andybarton Posted January 1, 2012 Author Share #65 Posted January 1, 2012 I have just been having a wander through the Copenhagen Guide Book bought for me as a Christmas present and noticed that the 12th October this year will be "Kulturnatten" Copenhagen - Events - Copenhagen Top Events Explore Copenhagen and all its cultural venues and events after dark with the Night of Culture Badge. On The Night of Culture 2012 the aim is to temporarily change the ambience and cultural landscape of Copenhagen. The whole city is an integral part of The Night of Culture, involving major and minor cultural institutions from the main boroughs: Nørrebro, Vesterbro, Christianshavn, Østerbro, City and Frederiksberg. Children, couples, families, groups and individuals - The Night of Culture has something for everybody: theatre, music, experimental arts, dancing, city walks, lectures and the list goes on. You can buy tickets all over the city. Unfortunately, the website http://www.kulturnatten.dk seems to be down at the moment, but basically, the city is open all night for cultural events. So, two things: 1. It could be a really interesting place to be 2. It could be a very popular time with the hotels, so booking early could be a very good idea. Wifey and Sprog will also come now I found the best deals on Easyjet and Swiss websites (for hotels), actually substantially better than Tripadvisor and Booking.com. Over the past few years, at various Challenges, we have enjoyed an evening meal en-masse as a group. Normally, we would wait until the end of Summer to organise a suitable venue etc, but circumstances this year are clearly going to be different. I would welcome any input from native Copenhageners (? ) or others with knowledge of the city, who can suggest a sensible venue with a choice of good food and at a reasonable price. In Copenhagen In the past, we have tried to keep to around €30 per head for a couple of courses and wine. We have managed to get wine thrown in for that too, on a couple of occasions. Recently, we have had around 25 - 30 attendees and, thinking about it further, if the city is very busy, we may have to restrict to a "First Come, First Served" basis for allocation of spaces at the table. There may not be the flexibility that we have enjoyed in the past. I will do my own research from here, but local knowledge is key to success with these things. Many thanks in advance for your help. Their backend restaurant would probably be large enough for 35 people. It's vis a vis Montmartre Jazzhouse which also might be an idea as their kitchen is pretty good. Kulturnatten are extremely exiting and very busy something is happening everywhere. So it's a good idea to book everything already. Dan Turell is a nice option. Classic Danish Café.
