Advertisement Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Hi Dirk Van der Herten, Take a look here "Do you know this building?" Game Thread. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
spylaw4 Posted June 10, 2014 Share #42 Posted June 10, 2014 Is it the Kyoto Bridge at Osaka Castle?
Dirk Van der Herten Posted June 10, 2014 Share #43 Posted June 10, 2014 It's not in Osaka, Brian, but Kyoto.
spylaw4 Posted June 14, 2014 Share #44 Posted June 14, 2014 Well let's try Gaunn-kyo bridge at the Toufuku-ji temple?
Dirk Van der Herten Posted June 14, 2014 Share #45 Posted June 14, 2014 Like Tofukuji the location we're looking for is also in the Higashiyama quarter of the city. Only this location is a bit more to the north. An excellent guess.
Dirk Van der Herten Posted June 14, 2014 Share #46 Posted June 14, 2014 A hint: there is about 7 km. between Tofukuji and our location. Almost in the middle lies the famous Kyomizu Dera.
spylaw4 Posted June 14, 2014 Share #47 Posted June 14, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Frankly, Dirk, I don't have time to try to locate this - there are so many temples/shrines in a place that I have never been to that although I have found what seems to be a photo of the same building./bridge, it appears that its not. I give up.
rhe Posted June 14, 2014 Share #48 Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) Is it the Hashidono (Tahei-kaku) bridge in one of the gardens of the Heian Jingu Shrine in Kyoto, a cypress-shingled wooden structure formerly on the grounds of the Kyoto Imperial Palace? Dirk Van der Herten Posted June 15, 2014 Share #49 Posted June 15, 2014 Excellent, you hit the middle of the target. Over to you.

stuny Posted June 16, 2014 Share #51 Posted June 16, 2014 It seems to be in a shopping mall in a northern location.
rhe Posted June 16, 2014 Share #52 Posted June 16, 2014 It is not a shopping mall but a six story galleria that has been called a "crystal cathedral of commerce". Tenants in the 49 and 53 story office towers linked by the galleria include: Barrick Gold. Boston Consulting Group, Bloomberg LP, Brookfield Asset Mgmt, CIBC Wood Gundy, Cisco Systems, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and Morgan Stanley. spylaw4 Posted June 16, 2014 Share #53 Posted June 16, 2014 I hate to say it, but the clue possibly made it too easy! So is it the Allen Lambert Galleria designed by Calatrava? Toronto?
rhe Posted June 16, 2014 Share #54 Posted June 16, 2014 Brian, you are correct. The office complex in which the Galleria is located is called Brookfield Place and the two office towers are the 49-story Bay Wellington Tower and the 53-story TD Canada Trust Tower. Now over to you. spylaw4 Posted June 16, 2014 Share #55 Posted June 16, 2014 Thanks, I"l look something out and post probably in the morning. Somehow Calatrava's architecture is very recognisable.
spylaw4 Posted June 17, 2014 Share #56 Posted June 17, 2014 Definitely not Calatrava! So what and where? Welcome, dear visitor! spylaw4 Posted June 18, 2014 Share #60 Posted June 18, 2014 I just realised that I should say that hemisphere does not necessarily imply a north/south division. In this case more an west/east one.
