Your turn I did not guess further, because I looked at the picture in detail and found "Rotterdam" on a sign in front of the building 😉
Alberti Posted September 27, 2021 Share #3603 Posted September 27, 2021 Good detective work . . Now I see ' Rotterdam ' hidden on the entrance to the scaffold, and Delftse Poort, the name of a building in the back. Have to be better next time. 😴

Alberti Posted September 27, 2021 Share #3607 Posted September 27, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recognized the buildings in the back first. I bought many a Leica on the Blvd Beaumarchais around the corner. OK, I'll have a look.

adan Posted September 27, 2021 Share #3610 Posted September 27, 2021 Fascinating! Here's the folding pen-knife version: https://www.wired.com/2016/01/victor-enrich-measure/ I'll hazard a guess this is in the Netherlands (?) - there seems to be an affinity for narrow and/or pointy buldings there (a very attractive one, IMHO). NigelG Posted September 27, 2021 Share #3611 Posted September 27, 2021 Yes you wouldn't get a building like that here (23rd + Broadway?) 😀 I'm not sure its a distinctive enough building for me to have spotted...definitely Mittel-European (although there was some housing like that in Stockholm maybe?) Alberti Posted September 28, 2021 Share #3612 Posted September 28, 2021 (edited) Sure it is in the Netherlands. Like the Scottish (they say ...) we are very penny-wise. Wasn't copper invented by two fighting Scotsmen about a penny and not wanting to let go .😊 @adanThat sur-real (some people would now call it fake but their imagination is short of something then) architecture by Victor Enrich is great. Strange: bicycle park on the ground floor/street level, shops in the basement . . . They even had to add a green arrow so bicyclers could understand where to go. adan Posted September 30, 2021 Share #3614 Posted September 30, 2021 (edited) Would we be looking at a modern addition to https://drimble.nl/cultuur/amersfoort/385493.html ...at approximately Stadsring 198, Amersfoort, Netherlands? Alberti Posted September 30, 2021 Share #3615 Posted September 30, 2021 (edited) Hats off. Great investigative work! Yes that is quite right. It is the 'new' Amicitia. The old one having been gone for some time, the ground being valuable. Well, enter project investors. The result, a project with many heads, was dead on arrival. Like a local newspaper said: "Zeg je Amicitia, dan zeg je koopgoot. Een lege koopgoot, welteverstaan." When you say Amicitia, you say shopping mall albeit an empty one. No customers, empty shops, even KFC closed down a few moths ago. Now the owner wants to convert the shops into luxury houses. Like was the original plan probably. Your turn. Alberti Posted October 4, 2021 Share #3620 Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) The top part looks like the University of Vermont steeple. Might be the same architect . . . At least it is from that wave of Greek styles. Edited October 4, 2021 by Alberti
