Michael Geschlecht Posted June 25, 2014 Share #23 Posted June 25, 2014 Hello Universalb50, Welcome to the Forum. Hello Again Rip, Welcome back. It's nice to see you writing again. The reason there are different Visoflex arms is that some were made to fit SCREWMOUNT cameras which were able to use special Visoflex II's which had a screw mount on the back & a bayonet mount in the front. There also MAY have been some Visoflex IIa's made with screw mount backs & bayonet mount fronts. Unlike the M models of the Visoflex II & IIa which had bayonet mounts both front & back. The relative positions of the shutter release buttons on the camera were different with screwmount & bayonet mount models. Also: The M5's had a higher top plate relative to the lens mount. This may have also necessitated additional different release arms for Visolflex II's, IIa's & III's. Best Regards Both, Michael

There was an arm with a screw-in extension that was suitable for both the M5 and other M bodies.
Washington Posted June 28, 2014 Author Share #26 Posted June 28, 2014 The shape of the finder has no being on the arm to release button interface, it's the arm and arm only.

I think he meant that the adjusting screw is much longer in Viso III than in Viso II, just to fit both M5 and older bodies...

Michael Geschlecht Posted July 8, 2014 Share #29 Posted July 8, 2014 Hello Everybody, If you look at the "Visoflex II" Section of Jean Claude's "Leica Historica" you will see that the shutter release arms of Screw mount & Bayonet mount models of the Visoflex II had different SHAPES. This is because of the different positions of the shutter release buttons on the respective Screw mount & Bayonet mount camera bodies in relation to the Visoflex II. Best Regards, Michael
