stuny Posted February 4, 2007 Share #3 Posted February 4, 2007 Ed - Unusual winds that day, landing on the diagonal (not north/south) runways. Also cute that you reference one of the most common, weak jokes about the state ("Which exit of the NJTWP to yo live at?"). Fabulous crop (in camera crop?), and excellent light, contrast and color. hsw Posted February 7, 2007 Share #10 Posted February 7, 2007 The framing and contrast are great. Nice catch. I've often thought about what a great spot this area is to get photos of the jets but always in a rush when I get to your 'neck of the woods' Cheers, Henry
Rona!d Posted February 7, 2007 Share #11 Posted February 7, 2007 Ed, good crop, would do a b&w from it with that hard contrast.
MrEd Posted February 8, 2007 Author Share #12 Posted February 8, 2007 Henry- Thanks. One of the best places to photograph planes in the NY area is the runway 4 approach, behind the Triboro Bus Company garage, in Elmhurst, Queens. Ronald- Thanks, I tried the B&W version and I believe the little color that you find in this particular image is 50% of the story. I don't know, It's just a matter of preference. Regards, Ed. . luigi bertolotti Posted February 8, 2007 Share #13 Posted February 8, 2007 Wonderful sense of composition; hard with a moving (flying...) subject, get such a perfect geometry. Compliments: I agree to who suggests you trying a B&W with hard contrast: my idea is that when a pict is no well composed, no manipulation can make it better; but when composition is fine, is worth to try also artificial effects like B&W manipulation.
