Agreed, Dave.

Or mine. Is there anything much sexier than skin-tight leather with a snake-like silk strap.:p

(I do like the all-black LC-1 too.:))

oooooo, she is cute . . . I could say something kinky about swapping "girlfriends" once in a while, but the mods would probably delete it :D

Well looks as though I've joined the club. Just won a Digilux 2 on eBay and the money has been sent so now the waiting game begins....

I was going back and forth between the Dlux 5 and the X1. The X1 makes BEAUTIFUL files but it's not inexpensive. I have large arthritic hands so I am so looking forward to a decent sized camera to hold and big rings and dials.

Once I can bear to part with it for a bit, I'm sending it to cameraleather to get covered in British Racing Green leather!

Azeredo -

Lovely. BTW: We refer to the Digilux 2 as D2, not DL2. DL2 sometimes refers to the tiny D-Lux 2.

You are absolutely right. Is, and always will be D2.

I was reading about DL-4 and DL-5 and did the mistake when wrote here.

Age problems :D

Is easy.

Go to Cameraleather Leica Digital Point and Shoot read all the instructions, specially the "wet method", choose what you want, then you have two options; send the D2 to cameraleather , or buy the D2 Kit and do it yourself.

Morgan Sparks is a tremendous person, always helpful.

I love the camera but I am frustrated with the low resolution. I can't even use a shot as a desktop photo because my 27" iMac has a higher resolution screen so images look quite grainy.

I am considering ebaying it to buy a D Lux 5 but can't bring myself to do it.

I'm pretty sure that's not right, but educate us.

Running the numbers, the D2's 5Mp sensor is good for 8"X10" prints at 240ppi resolution. This is a very good quality resolution, although professional work often requires 300ppi printing.

I have printed some D2 scenics at 11"X14" and there are not bad at all.

I love my D2 but it's biggest fault is the noise above ISO100.

Technically, a 27" monitor (assume 15" tall ??) with 96ppi resolution = 27 X 15 X 96 X 96 = 3.7Mp. So with a 5Mp image, your screen is showing almost every single pixel. Add to that any noise and, yeh, the 27" image is not going to knock you out.

PS . . . don't rush out and buy more megapixels on a small sensor . . . if you need hi-res hi-Q images, you need a bigger sensor.

The 21.5-inch iMac features 1920-by-1080 resolution. The 27-inch iMac boasts even greater resolution of 2560-by-1440

The D2 makes pictures with a resolution of 2560 by 1920 pixels. Using an image taken by a D2 at full scale (100%) ought not present any problems:
