Ok there are a few more mystery items in my trove. There are around 7 variants of what I assume is always called the 'focoslide' with a variety of accessories. Most of these devices are similar in form (rectangular)- except for this one which is quite different (circular). Does anyone know what this one is called?

the next item is a complete mystery to me... from a projector perhaps?

I wouldn't know it was Leitz except for the bag it was in:

There is another item I cannot find information on. I am guessing it is a projector lens, but searching on the net I can't find images of any other that looks like this one. It is a 50mm Elmaron f2.8 lens. It has three prongs on the front which I am going to assume are for focusing...

This a part of an enlarger, where the film is pressed by the condensor lens

the window is rather small, for MINOX format ?

but the 14051 ref sticker is for a M lens rear cap

Sure it is a projector lens for short distance or small format as the lens is deep in the projector body it will need this 3 prongs to adjust the focusing.

Thankyou very much JC -

I have another item for the team- a long exposure timer. It fits on my IIIc perfectly. I searched around and found similar ones but not this exact model. Does it have a code name?

This thread could become a good resource for people trying to identify random Leitz ware. If anyone else has a 'mystery object' fell free to post it in the archive.

Allow me please to restart this thread.

When jc_braconi says a HEBOO is a self-timer and not for long exposures, I believe it.

Though I learned just today it is not right: It is a "Hemmwerk" for the slow exposure times for cameras which don't have them (Leica I, II, Standard, Ic, If etc). It is clearly described as such in Lager III, p.82, and also on the photo shown here and on Jc's website you see the engraved numbers for slow times.

I don't think you also can use it for delayed shutter release as a self timer, or can you as well?

and here is an unexplained bracket of some sort.... R system?

The brackets are UWOOS. They are used to convert the Valoy II into a copy stand using a Focorapid-type attachment. The double column Reprovit I (ROODE) also uses this part. The single column Reprovit I (ROOSE) uses a different arm, not requiring the UWOOS. Laney p448.

I corrected the description on my website.

I have to control if it works also as a a delayed action, as it was looking when I dismounted it for CLA.

Aufsetzbares = put on able

Hemmwerk = retard mechanism

This is the BLISE baseplate for the BLITZ flashgun (model VII, circa 1941). Lager illustrates all bases variants on pages 248-251 of his "Illustrated History - Volume III - Accessories".

also seen selsy as a code --- i have one of these sitting in my box ---- if i used an old leica flash, i might use the baseplate- --- are they worth anything more than a standard ii / iii baseplate?

if someone NEEDS this for their colection - let me know- -- mine is just sitting here

I just came across a large trove of vintage Leitz odds and ends. I am going to post some pictures here in the hopes that the sites learned experts can help me identify them.

Let me thank these experts in advance :)

First off the bat are some ABLON units:

My question concerns the first of the three pictured. Is it called ABLON or does it have another name? Is it specific to particular camera models?

The next two are more common and look the same. However there is a slight difference in the shape and I wonder if these also relate to different cameras?

Look at the "Fontenelle archives 96" thread (just referred to hereunder) for details of the film trimming template associated with the Rondinax tank.

The first ablon unit is not used for trimming the film to load the camera,but is used to trim the film leader to fit a vintage Leitz spiral loading developing tank.

Not exactly ! It was not intended to be used with the "vintage Leitz spiral loading (?) developing tank" (REELO), but with the Leitz TAHOO or Leitz-Agfa TEOOH daylight developing tanks (see also Fontenelle Archives 96).

OK- I came across another trove of mystery Leitz items. I will post some more in a week or two but for now: This one looks like perhaps it is part of a bulk film loader? What does it bolt onto? Does it have a name? Xbleet, Outspo, Pnoxum or some such Leitz gibberish (which I like very much BTW)? Please excuse the poor photos (iphone)...

Thanks Luigi :) the one in the pic is slightly different. I assume that is done in a dark room... and one can bolt the AFLOO to a table so is easy to find and not lose in the dark. Nice.

I will have to find something harder for you next time...

Yes, your item (as the ebay I linked) are clearly to be used vertically (or horizontally, fitted to a vertical bench)... the picture is from an old manual, in which the code of that device isn't quoted... it has the same basic mechanic, but looks to be made (maybe) in two parts... one to fit it on the horizontal darkroom bench... I'd be curios to find if it is another version or has a different code... is fun to search for such old details... ;)

Tha AFLOO was the development of a previous device with the same function (AFLOO was listed from 1935/36 to around 1960s) , the predecessor was coded as ASPUL (and... ;) as with all the "early" codes, they tried to give an evocative code... "spool" "spule"... there was an agitator fro developing tank coded as AGITA... :cool:)

But the ASPUL was very similar in the detail of the mounting plate :
