pauledell Posted October 24, 2010 Share #5 Posted October 24, 2010 Dreamy like a scene from a love story movie. Either she is gazing into the future or is sad leaving her boyfriend. Let the viewer decide. Paul
menos I M6 Posted October 24, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted October 24, 2010 Thank you all for the nice comments. Paul, this was exactly the point, I saw in the image, when I saw the scan. Due to the very strong light falloff and the light during this night scene, half the frame looks very dark, almost black. This was very close to the mood, I was in, when taking the photo. A nice thing also is, that apart from the light falloff, the Noctilux draw rather low contrast and dreamy, which fits the scene and the young woman and makes here a contrast to the otherwise dark frame. It is not a perfect photograph - slightly tilted, not perfect focus, very grainy due to pushing, but somehow, I really like this photo for the dreamy, moody reason, you mentioned. I disagree with your seeing. There is nothing that distracts the eye in this picture as far as being tilted, unfocused and grainy. One needs to look at the entire picture to see what the feel is ultimately and if it succeeds. If it does, then the tilting, the blurry and the grain are a part of the photos success and that is why you still enjoy it, People only pick out those problems in a picture when the picture isn't successful to it ultimate statement. x K
menos I M6 Posted November 30, 2010 Author Share #15 Posted November 30, 2010 Thanks Kelly - good, to learn other perspectives and insights. Sometimes, one has to step back a meter or two, to review things, one creates, as you see them more like close up with scissors, frames, pixels, rather than from the image site of things ;-)
