Rolo Posted January 4, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 4, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) The remains of a tree struck by lightening. A flat grey day, then on the horizon there was a break in the cloud and bright sunlight came flooding in and then was gone. When it was there the strong directional light provided fine illumination and colouring. Twenty minutes later the rain set in for the day, but it was a magical twenty minutes. Velvia 50. Rolo Posted January 5, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted January 5, 2007 Even Roger Hicks couldn't fail to like this one Scotland, I assume? I look forward to seeing this on the Mac at home later. Who is Roger Hicks ? Is he the writer that's married to the photographer ? Andy, you're spot on. Scotland it is, but where ? My guess is that you know the precise location. davidmires Posted January 5, 2007 Share #11 Posted January 5, 2007 Rolo, I've come to expect stunning images every time I see your name in a post. It's nice to see a color image from you, and every bit as surreal and beautiful as your B+W work. Thanks for posting, your photos inspire me to improve mine. andybarton Posted January 5, 2007 Share #13 Posted January 5, 2007 Who is Roger Hicks ? Is he the writer that's married to the photographer ? Andy, you're spot on. Scotland it is, but where ? My guess is that you know the precise location. Roger Hicks is the fellow who writes a column at the back of AP. (I doubt whether you read such a rag ) He is married to a fellow photographer, called Frances, IIRC. He wrote a piece about lone trees once, saying how he didn't like photos of them. Shows what he knows. As far as location is concerned, I don't know Scotland intimately, but this looks like Glencoe, or somewhere thereabouts. BTW, this looks fabulous on the Mac...
