Have book, am happy:D

Ellen liked seeing herself in "generations", page 13. Still have to show her father that he is now famous. I didn't ask him for permission but I think he will not object at all.

Brian, so you did get the premium paper. Good. If we did this all the time, Blurb's quirks would be well-known.

Bill,

I now have one copy with the premium paper and one with the ... erm ... non-premium paper, which I ordered before the premium paper became the default. Without a doubt the premium paper was the right way to go. The non-premium paper is quite thin and lacks the lustre of the premium paper.

I have a non-premie coming, to see the difference. $5 is not a lot of money.

I wish Blurb were a little easier to deal with -- guess we'll have to do this more often. Today, however, it will take a (cattle) prod.

I confess that this one was easier than the last -- and also more successful in my view. I think this latter fact is due to the fact that it started as a Book, whereas the previous one started as a thread about the camera and not necessarily the pix. In this book, it is clear to me that pictures the photogs viewed as publishable were submitted.

Yes, it's a great book. Lemme see how the summer goes. I intended to start this book earlier, but the LUF Charity book was under way and this might have interfered.

Best regards to all,

Bill -

Our first copy (yes first - explanation to come) arrived yesterday. the entire process form ordering it online to receiving it was easy and fast, with Blurb communicating well along the way.

When we got home form work yesterday we found the package at our doorstep. As soon as I opened it and Barbara quickly paged through she wanted that copy for herself at work. This morning I'll order another.

Thank you again for your hard work and fine judgment.

I got an email from Blurb today that included this:

We're also upgrading Blurb's standard end sheets. Currently, Blurb's end sheets are white. As of Wednesday, April 13, 2011, our standard end sheets across all hardcover books will be mid-grey and 30% thicker.

There will be no extra charge for this end sheet upgrade.

Would you like me to change the book so it had gray and heavier end sheets?

... which is the sure way to detect if it is premium or not ? Is the standard paper like the previous "many eyes" ' one ?)

Luigi,

The Premium paper is a thick, heavy paper. The Standard paper is very similar to the paper from the previous Many Eyes (or "Any Eyes" in my case:rolleyes:) except glossier.

I'm thinking to order another... I was too quick to order my copy, and it's a non-premium paper , I seem (btw... which is the sure way to detect if it is premium or not ? Is the standard paper like the previous "many eyes" ' one ?)

Luigi, all copies are now coming with premium paper.

I have one of each and the non-premium is ok, too.

Stil waiting for my copy to arrive. According to the tracking system of UPS Blurb managed to mess up the delivery address. I've contacted UPS with the correct data but the parcel might already be on its way back.

So I send in a request to Blurb to look into the matter. Just keep on waiting I guess.

Regards

Gerd
