hi,here are some of my fav. x1 picts:)

Lambda - Some lovely photos you have posted here. The one with the flying pigeon is my favorite. Great timing and composition. The critical position of the pigeon really takes the picture to the next level. Love it.

Pete - Look forward to seeing your pictures!

A refreshing departure from our habits is definitely good to spur more creativity. I look forward to your photos as always. Hopefully you will join the X1 challenge.

Here's one from India, a chariot race I call this one haha like the one in Ben Hur? Maybe not....:D

I really like this one CJ (I think I saw someone refer to you as CJ, hope that's okay). In any case I love the color and the texture of your subject....also the bokeh.

Happy New Year!

David

Sorry far to much foreground for my taste

A completely different angle need I think

I like the geometry of the shot and the angle but agree with Peter from the point of view that there is not much interest/texture or subject in the foreground for the space it occupies in the composition.

Also I took "weather" to mean that the subject matter of the composition was tied closer to weather conditions. Please set me straight on this...I will also go back and read the challenge guide lines :)

I took the "theme" of the challenge to be a point of inspiration as opposed to a hard rule. Then again, I've never been one for rules... :p

It's like the saying that "nice guys finish last"...those of us who get stuck on rules I think place ourselves at a disadvantage! Good on ya! :) I like your thinking.

Hey David, Yup my name is CJ last I checked haha here's another I posted in the photo forums...this one was backlit and severely underexposed but look at how pliable the X1 DNGs are, a few quick moving of sliders in PP software voila!...:D

There are no rules, though I think sticking to the theme may be good for garnering more votes...but then again fine weather is also weather??!! Come to think of it you can probably shoot anything for this theme haha:p

Outstanding portrait CJ! And the bokeh is really nice as well.

I have owned many Leica lenses over the years and this 2.8 Elmarit is a keeper. Of course it would be probably be a different story as a 35mm optic, but then it is pretty well glued on to this camera, no? :) They did glue the lens on so it wouldn't peel off with the skin, right? ;)

Thanks David for the kind comment. The X1 is a keeper for sure, it is one of those things in life where a small minority that actually "gets it" will likely stay with it or its future iliterations.

That is provided that that Leica sticks to the tiny cam, big sensor good lens formula.

This camera is also nostalgic for me coz I recall my dad gave me a tiny fixed lens film camera when I was tiny, and I believe I took my best photos at that time with it too haha:p

Not sure if they glued the lens but the whole assembly hasnt popped out yet on mine haha!

Martin, you certainly have a style of photography of your own, it's different!
