Advertisement Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Hi type theory, Take a look here Experience Artisan & Artists bags. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
haohan Posted July 22, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 22, 2010 Hi, I have the Oskar's one day bag. Loved it because it fits my purpose - a small enough bag for my M6 and 2-3 lenses. At times, I have my M6 attached with a 35 summicron and a 5D + 50mm 1.2L and the bag can handle the setup. However, recently, because of rain (& high humidity) in Singapore, the bag had turned moldy after getting caught in a drizzle - I was slightly disappointed that the canvas was so susceptible to mold. This is my only complaint.
johnbuckley Posted July 22, 2010 Share #3 Posted July 22, 2010 I used the Oskar's One Day bag as my regular bag for going out and about town. However, I bought a new Artisan & Artist bag a month or so ago -- ARTISAN & ARTIST* COV-8000 BLACK CAMERA BAG NEW! -- and I have to say it is glorious. It's too big for daily use. But for travel, where you want to bring your M and four or so lenses, as well as books, iPads, iPods, magazines, etc. it is elegant, practical, and wonderful. ldhrads Posted July 22, 2010 Share #4 Posted July 22, 2010 I use an Oskars Day bag, for travel as well as when out and about. Carries a body plus 3-4 lenses, plus my Kindle and a few other goodies. Nicely Made
wda Posted July 22, 2010 Share #5 Posted July 22, 2010 I have the Artisan & Artists' ACAM 3000 which I use for an M plus X1. There is room for one lens on the M plus two more linked back-to-back. I am delighted with its ease of access. I would avoid rain, but it is possible to spray proof the fabric if necessary. Ease of access was the decider for me. By the way, Welcome to the Forum! pico Posted July 23, 2010 Share #6 Posted July 23, 2010 You all must travel in protected tourist mode. Why not wear a sign that says "Rip me off!"?
timd. Posted July 23, 2010 Share #7 Posted July 23, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) so you think it would be better to wear a big black-and-blue-striped backpack with an embroidered sign saying 'lowe alpine camera protection' or so? depending on where you travel, you usually wear the 'rip me off' sign rather on your forehead than on your bag - or you don't wear it at all. elmoslate Posted July 23, 2010 Share #8 Posted July 23, 2010 Thought about getting an A&A, but in the end bought a Billingham foam insert for around US$50 that fits perfectly inside a beat up Jack Spade diaper daddy bag. I can fit 2 M bodies, 2 lenses, plus assorted crap and best of all it doesn't look like a camera bag.
Big T Posted July 23, 2010 Share #9 Posted July 23, 2010 I use the Artisane & Artist ACAM 1100 Bag for my M8.2. Love it. Holds all I need for a days shoot. Also will hold my VC 15mm F4.5 which isn't shown.
farnz Posted July 23, 2010 Share #10 Posted July 23, 2010 Dear Vincent Price:rolleyes: (OP), another tick for the ACAM 3000. Dear Pico, sorry to hear that you got ripped off while carrying an identifiable camera bag. Pete.
d2mini Posted July 23, 2010 Share #11 Posted July 23, 2010 I use the Artisane & Artist ACAM 1100 Bag for my M8.2. Love it. Holds all I need for a days shoot. Also will hold my VC 15mm F4.5 which isn't shown. I have the same bag but the leather version. Also known as the Evan's Walker bag. Great inserts, right up there with billingham, and an even better color. Great bag for a light kit. M9, 2-3 lenses and extra bits. Took it all over italy and london during a rainy week and it performed great.
Pindy Posted July 31, 2010 Share #12 Posted July 31, 2010 (edited) I have the ACAM-7100 "Oskar's One Day Bag". It's a really great bag, with light use, but I'm selling it if you're interested. Just ended up with too many bags—how did that happen? The bag is reasonably small; you can fit an M with 35 lux attached and there's enough compartment room for about 8-12 rolls of film in another and another 2 stacked lenses in the third. Sandokan Posted August 1, 2010 Share #13 Posted August 1, 2010 My favourite is the Image Smith II (ACAM 1000). It holds 2 M bodies with lenses plus upto 3 lenses and weighs (next to) nothing. All are very easy accessible. To avoid being "ripped off" - just look ugly & nasty and nobody will even think about it.
farnz Posted August 1, 2010 Share #14 Posted August 1, 2010 ... To avoid being "ripped off" - just look ugly & nasty and nobody will even think about it. Ravi, How does such a sweet and innocent-looking person such as your good self achieve that? Old and gnarled Pete.
richfx Posted August 2, 2010 Share #15 Posted August 2, 2010 I just bought the A&A ACAM 1000 this week. I'd tried Billingham and Fogg bags, but neither model I bought fit my M9 and five lenses. The ACAM 1000 does, with room to spare. It's basic, which I like (no extra / unnecessary frills), but the padding inserts are terrific - very thick and protective. All in all, I really like it. Have to keep it out of the weather, however, because the zippers are on the top and are not waterproof, nor is the fabric. No worries. Sandokan Posted August 2, 2010 Share #16 Posted August 2, 2010 @Pete - I learn what I can from the Master :-) It is a bit harder to do with a "girlie" looking bag like the ACAM1000 but I think I carry it off @Rich - I fully agree with you, but the bag is shower proof just not thunderstorm proof.
kivis Posted February 14, 2013 Share #17 Posted February 14, 2013 I have had the ARTISAN & ARTIST* ACAM-3000 BLACK CAMERA BAG for over 6 years and it certainly looks worn but it is in perfect shape. A real find!!
IWC Doppel Posted February 14, 2013 Share #18 Posted February 14, 2013 I have a canvas Evans Walker and use it every day. its about 18m old. It carries, M9-P with one lens attached, battery, filter, grey card, dust brush and cleaning cloth plus wallet and mobile. Sometimes a small notepad I am very pleased with it and may replace at some point (when it is sufficiently worn) with the leather version
