erlingmm Posted July 9, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 9, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) It is July, and I am impatiently waitning for delivery of the new 35'lux from my dealer, where I am first in line. I have heard rumours that approx. 20 copies have been distributed to testers. Have there been any deliveries to "ordinary customers" so far?

Clandrel Posted July 9, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 9, 2010 Well, I've had mine soon a month. And I'm a regular customer in Norway too. BTW: A fantastic lens... /c
farnz Posted July 9, 2010 Share #3 Posted July 9, 2010 I was in Zingst in early June and the Leica Akademy very kindly had a dozen or so of the new 35 Lux's to lend to members at the forum meeting so they must be in production ... Pete.
cbretteville Posted July 11, 2010 Share #4 Posted July 11, 2010 Jupp, I used one for two days while in Zingst. The ones they had were regular production units, not prototypes. If you look at the performance proof shots for the lens on Leica's website they were shot in September (or was it October) last year. This one has been in the works for quite some time. octo Posted July 22, 2010 Share #13 Posted July 22, 2010 Just been taking delivery of mine. I had indicated my interest in June and was waiting to hear from my dealer. Happened to drop in late afternoon yesterday to pick up some prints and he says: oh 'was just talking about you fifteen minutes ago. We got a single one: still interested? So I completed the paperwork this morning and I am a happy frog! It does look and feel as beautiful as I expected. I'll probably take it to the One Challenge this year. lars_bergquist Posted July 22, 2010 Share #14 Posted July 22, 2010 While sitting on the deck of a motorboat yesterday (Wednesday) morning, I received a phone call. Through the noise, I understood that my lens had arrived. I sold my v.1 in February and asked my dealer to get me into the line for the v.2 a.s.a.p. At that time, there was not even a line! This morning I took delivery. Lovely piece of machinery ... I may even learn to live with the screw-in hood eventually, but I don't think I will ever love it. In order to speed up the use of a polariser, I will have to use the lens normally without any protective filter at all, though that is definitely against my instincts. I am very impressed by the smooth focusing. I have an early Summilux-M 1:1.4/50mm ASPH, and it had to get back to Solms for limbering up, because it was so stiff that precise focusing was impossible -- now it's OK. But this one is just right straight out of the box. Pictures? My M9 is in Solms with a broken sensor glass! The old man who has is arse behind whichever way he turns ... tdtaylor Posted July 23, 2010 Share #15 Posted July 23, 2010 Lars, Sorry to hear you had to send your M9 back. Just didn't put 2 and 2 together from the many posts. May the Gods grant you a fast return of your M9. I have had to let mine go back to Leica NJ twice, and have not appreciated having to use my Nikons- damn, are they heavy... holmes Posted July 25, 2010 Share #16 Posted July 25, 2010 Forgive my stupidity but why should I get all excited about another (new) 35 f 2 asph. I would never begin to count the raves of the "old" 35 f 2 asph. How do you improve on near perfection? So I'm sticking with my nearly perfect 35. farnz Posted July 25, 2010 Share #18 Posted July 25, 2010 Forgive my stupidity but why should I get all excited about another (new) 35 f 2 asph. I would never begin to count the raves of the "old" 35 f 2 asph. How do you improve on near perfection? So I'm sticking with my nearly perfect 35. It's not a new f/2 it's a new f/1.4 (Summilux) to supersede the version that often had focus shift problems. I agree that there are few problems reported about the current 35 f/2 Summicron-M asph. hoppyman Posted July 25, 2010 Share #19 Posted July 25, 2010 Not a single one for sale in Australia as yet, I'm told. I'm still in the queue from day One announcement (behind the back orders for the OLD model) and the line stretches further back behind me now. That's progress....kinda
