KAD Posted October 23, 2014 Share #341 Posted October 23, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Started with a Leica M9 two years ago. Got to M240 after some months, but this summer I wanted to go to film. Bought a M6 and was amazed This week I got myself a M3, and ohhhh maaan, that is mechanical perfection for sure The feel of rewind, and pulling the release make all other M`s stand out as "unfinished"! Advertisement Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Hi KAD, Take a look here I love my M3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Peng Kang Hill Posted October 23, 2014 Share #342 Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) That's EXACTLY the route that I took to M3 world, KAD. Never looked back. By the way, that's a real handsome setup you have there. The C Sonnar is good. I use it, too. Edited October 23, 2014 by Peng Kang Hill
Popular Post KAD Posted October 27, 2014 Popular Post Share #343 Posted October 27, 2014 Had my first little "photo walk" with my "new" M3. To shoot this is like nothing else! I had a light meeter with me, but used it only for a few shots and tried to "gestimate" the rest. Turned out pretty well as for exposure I think, at least for a first time try Both film and development was also new this day, so it was some risk involved Ilford Pan F+, deveolped in Rodinal 1:50 for 11 min. KAD Posted October 29, 2014 Share #345 Posted October 29, 2014 All of these are with Zeiss Sonnar 50 f 1.5 I realy like this lens.. super sharp, but with nice bokeh. It has more caracter than my 50 Lux I think.

Peng Kang Hill Posted November 18, 2014 Share #350 Posted November 18, 2014 Mine just came back from a CLA and a re-skin. I found a rare Canon LTM 50/2.2 at a good price and it's now a very happy couple. Welcome, dear visitor! Peng Kang Hill Posted December 7, 2014 Share #353 Posted December 7, 2014 Very nice! I'm so envious because mine had to go back to fix a stuck shutter. It refuses to fire. The person who CLA'd for me 2 months ago is just as perplexed. I'm now thinking of sending it straight to Leica, instead if the 3rd party CLA shops. Sigh! M9reno Posted December 8, 2014 Share #354 Posted December 8, 2014 Very nice! I'm so envious because mine had to go back to fix a stuck shutter. It refuses to fire. The person who CLA'd for me 2 months ago is just as perplexed. I'm now thinking of sending it straight to Leica, instead if the 3rd party CLA shops. Sigh! If you send it to Leica they will just subcontract it out to a 3rd party CLA shop (one not of your choosing) and charge you triple for the favour. Just what I've been told by a well-known expert - and from my own experience of quite shoddy work at Solms on a CLA for my IIIg.

Just what I've been told by a well-known expert - and from my own experience of quite shoddy work at Solms on a CLA for my IIIg. Thanks for the tip, Al. I didn't know Leica outsource their work! Out of curiosity, did they put right what they're expected to in your camera? That is, to your satisfaction?
M9reno Posted December 9, 2014 Share #356 Posted December 9, 2014 I wrote at some length about this experience here: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/2163345-post446.html

105012 Posted January 13, 2015 Share #358 Posted January 13, 2015 My M3 with some inspiration! I love this battery free kit. The M3 single stroke is fresh from a CLA and has a Luigi "Essentials" strap (no metal parts), 50mm Summicron (type 4 with 12585 metal hood) and is accompanied by a 90mm Tele-Elmarit (thin) and an M-Rokkor 28mm (mint, no spots, viewfinder in the bag). Stealth3kpl Posted January 21, 2015 Share #360 Posted January 21, 2015 I was given a bottle of Lagavulin 16 year old for Christmas. Have you opened it yet? What's it like? Pete
