Louis Posted April 30, 2010 Share #5 Posted April 30, 2010 Ece, I just love this shot. For me, this is the best of your poppies series and one of your very best! The colors are wonderful and you were very courageous for the angle you chose. Also very lucky to have that bee at that moment! How did you bribe him?!... geaibleu Posted May 1, 2010 Share #6 Posted May 1, 2010 Fascinating image that litteraly grows on the viewer as it seems to brighten the more one looks at it. No wonder the bee was attracted!
pauledell Posted May 1, 2010 Share #7 Posted May 1, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ece, The first thing that came to my mind when I seen this was the tune "Flight Of The Bumblebee". Lovely picture with the outstanding colors, lighting, sharpness, the wonderful sky as a background and of course, the bumblebee. Paul
allamande Posted May 1, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted May 1, 2010 Henry, Herb, Strutkay, Louis, geaibleu, and Paul, Thank you for looking in and for your wonderful comments. I appreciate the feedback very much. I was lucky on several counts: The sun was bright, but the puffy clouds (unusual for us) were filtering the harsh light perfectly, the bee showed up at the perfect time (maybe he saw me hovering around the flowers and thought "competition" ), and the lens did its job well. allamande Posted May 4, 2010 Author Share #14 Posted May 4, 2010 Dave, Al, and David, Thank you so much! Most of the credit goes to the bee, no question about that. melissah Posted May 9, 2010 Share #16 Posted May 9, 2010 beautiful and so very cali. my biggest worry currently is the bees. the color and light on this is just terrific. i think when color is soo good like this, thats when you know its not a b/w. even though it would really work it b/w. you are right about that lens. its very good. allamande Posted May 10, 2010 Author Share #17 Posted May 10, 2010 Mike and Melissa, Thank you very much for looking in and leaving your delightful comments! As always, I appreciate the support very much. Melissa, you are right (of course!) about BW. I've been experimenting with converting some of my poppy shots to BW and they work out surprisingly well IMO, especially with an orange or red filter. Watch out for those bees.... andybarton Posted May 15, 2010 Share #19 Posted May 15, 2010 If you adjust the levels to get rid of the blank tail on the right, you will have a much, much better shot, IMHO.
