Ronald, Did the Abarth Scorpione still have the swing axles of the Fiat 850? Assuming the 1300 Fiat Abarth engine made the same 125 BHP of the earlier Simca based Abarth that my mother had, I could understand the handling of the Scorpione being less than ideal. Mind you I don't recall my father making adverse comments about the handling of the Simca 1000 based Simca Abarth GT, which also had swing axles but was rather lower set than the Scorpione. Wilson

stuny Posted June 5, 2023 Share #19902 Â Posted June 5, 2023 Early Porsche Targas had the same issue, rusting at the frame below the Targa bar. Â My very used 1969 912 Targa was somehow spared that problem. Â You knew it was serious if you jacked up the car towards its middle, and it drooped on both sides of the jack.

The SS had double CV jointed drive shafts, semi trailing variety swing arms known from the Abarth 1000 TCR (600 body).

Trunk big enough for lugguage AND a lot of wine, small enough vehicles for tiny villages. Rust was the problem here in Germany, especially the (new!) 1983 504 Cabriolet was a complete nightmare. My father switched to BMW 3-series convertibles after the 504 Pininfarinightmare.
stuny Posted June 6, 2023 Share #19907  Posted June 6, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) While waiting for somebody to step in for Wilson, have a look at this full size monopoly token, which was actually displayed at Pebble Beach.  It's now in the large and often strange collection of the Lane Museum, on the outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee.  Really worth a visit.  Welcome, dear visitor! wlaidlaw Posted June 6, 2023 Share #19908  Posted June 6, 2023 It is quite similar to my Schuco clockwork Mercedes W25. I had it restored a few years ago but for some weird reason the restorer decided to paint it Bugatti Blue instead of the original white. I bought a new box for it and the hammer for the knock off wheel nuts, which had gone missing from the tool kit over the years. I have just sent off my Prameta clockwork Jaguar XK120 today to the Toyworks in Penrith in the Lake district. I was showing it to a friend in around 1958, when he said to me: "Do you know you can change them straight from 3rd gear to reverse without stopping the car?" Before I could say get your mitts off my Jaguar, he had grasped the reversing light and yanked it across. The gearbox made a nasty crunch and the car has never worked since. I was so tempted the next week, to "accidentally" stand on his Hornby OO gauge Mallard locomotive but I resisted. I have also lost the policeman wind up key for the Jaguar but those can easily be found on Fleabay if the Toyworks manages to unjam the gearbox. I do still have its original cardboard box, albeit somewhat worse for wear. Wilson

You cropped that very well, especially hiding the rear lights and gaps. Before I answered "P C GT" I first had to be sure I could 100% exclude a BMW Z3 with the Aero-Kit. All I recall was a demo lap with Walter Röhrl and two owners I knew when this was the car to have as an Early Adopter. Both couldn´t drive it like Walter did 😉 2
