Thank you Philip … I'd not heard of a Lester car previously but interesting to find out about its history.

The next car marque is fairly obvious but can you please state:

Make, model/type, year, coachbuilder and the name of its first owner - it's a well known car and currently listed for sale.

Yes, you've got it Wilson. The 1936 Bentley 4¼ Litre Vanden Plas Open Tourer was originally ordered and owned by Sir Malcolm Campbell and is currently listed for sale by P&A Wood - and was displayed at last weekend's RREC Annual Rally at Burghley House Stamford.

Your turn Wilson.

Best wishes

OK, since I'm probably the only person awake right now I'll post one, this is a one-off, it is known by two names, either name is enough. Apologies for the noise, it was dark in the room.

What an extraordinary creation!

Thanks for bringing it to my attention, Mike!

I particularly love the bit in dunk's link where they mention the fuel consumption figure of 3 Gallons per Mile.

And I thought my 'warmed-over' 914 was bad at 12mpg around town....

Which is one reason why a flight in a 2 seater Spitfire at Imperial War Musem Duxford with Classic Wings costs £2995 for 30 minutes.  I compromised and flew in a de Havilland Rapide with 11 other passengers for £39.
