I really love this sticker on the windscreen of our hmhmhm - does it mean you have to explore your own oil to keep this car running?

Cheers, Andreas

Andreas, believe it or not, when this car was new, I could fill up the tank on my VW Beetle for a little more than two dollars. Few people, except for us college students, cared about fuel consumption in those days.

The car which you can see mirrored in the painting seems to be a Jaguar XK 120 oder XK 150 with softtop closed, so maybe we are on a Jaguar meeting?

One Jaguar with this spare wheel compartment access you can see in the lower right edge of the picture was the Jaguar D Type from 1954-57, winning Le Mans in 55, 56 and 57.

Make an model, please.

...maybe the right headlamp will be helpful?

PS: @Lung7707 - the idea of this thread is, that you can post "your" photo after you have "named the car" which is in focus yet. In our case it is the Maserati in posting before yours. Oh, sorry, its not a Maserati ;-) It is a, a, a - can you name the car?

Bill, indeed the shape of the front wings reminds on the Bristol 405 - but our car follows a totally different philosophy (and only places for two).

If you try it out, you will see what I mean. Why not take place on the drivers seat (left hand driven, because of export rate), with Neal as your co-pilot, and let the wind in your face make you smile?

Stuart,

you have seen the chequered flag first - it is a Healey 100, some special series of this car have been sold as Healey LeMans - but you cannot see the difference in the crops, so I am satisfied with your answer. One difference to the 6-cylinder-Big Healeys is the adjustable front screen, from which you can se a small piece in the second crop :-)

So, its up to you, Stuart!

Cheers, Andreas

Andreas -

The louvers in the bonnet are unique to the Le Mans. Some came with a leather strap across the bonnet, too. A very desirable car, a used one of which I passed up when I was 18 since it was too used.

Let's try this one that I saw Friday morning on my way to Andy Barton's hotel to drop off some things for his visit. It was one of dozens of vintage cars there for aCoen brothers film in production.

The louvers have been the clue....and I have thought I showed too much of the adjustable front screen. Now I know what I have to do next time :-)

Thanks Stuart, for your addition.

I absolutely like this thread because you learn so much about car design.

Concerning our new "name the car" - I have some ideas, already digging...

Chers, Andreas
