Yes, it looks like a Beetle, thats the reason why I have choosen this crop. But sometimes things are not what they are looking like...as this little racing car. Have you taken a closer look through the rear side window? If you have, you might have recognized the steering wheel on the right hand side in a typical design - which is not Volkswagen.

By the way: The racing event in which our prototypes have started decades ago is still a very famous one!

Bonne nuit,

Andreas

...I try it next time with a non-MG.

Ronald, you're right: Its an MGA with a special coupe body, registered SRX210.

Ted Lund and Hans Waeffler have been part of the three cars prototype MGA team (code name EX182) at Le Mans 1955. One car has had an accident (but not involved in the fatal accident at the Grand stand in 1955 Le Mans), the two others made it at 12th and 17th overall.

Later on, one of the racers body combined with an MGA twin cam chassis was sold to Lund and he raced the car at Le Mans from 1959 to 1961. In the first year, he didnt finished because of a collision with a dog, but in 1960 he became 1st in class and 12th overall - not so bad for 5 year racing car! During these years, SRX210 got this very distinguished coupe additions.

The actual shot was taken at 2008 Silverstone MG Car Club Meeting with Digilux 2 at the pits.

Ronald - your turn again.

Cheers, Andreas

Somewhere I must have a shot when "SRX 210" license still was a roadster.

What about the rumour that one of those EX182 is a rebuild EX175/EX172 (which once was a TD chassis)?

I´d better keep my mouth shut, now I have to find something interesting. Maybe it will be an easy one, so anybody can make it ;)

A sedan or sports sedan...but in my opinion older than 10 years:

- key lock (instead of infrared)

- no drivers airbag (as far as one can see through the drivers window)

Thought about an older Jaguar XJ, but series 2 has totally different door openers (pullhandle), and series 3 have the key lock below the belt line.

RO 80 has had pullhandles as well.

Cheers, Andreas

Stuart directs me on the right track...

German sports sedan, but older (airbag etc.).

BMW used this type or door opener...you can see it very clearly for example when take a closer look to the --> BMW 2500 <--.

If I am right - then thanks to Stuart!

Cheers, Andreas

PS: The correct term is BMW E3, produced from 1968 to 1977 with engines from 2.5 up to 3.3 litres, therefore BMW 2500 is one example from the BMW E3 range.

Good you got it so quick, was an easy one, I guess (door handles, steering wheel etc.). This is the 2500 of the works museum.

After a long work day...nothing happened here at "Sports & Leisure"? What the heck are you doing the whole day? Working as well, I assume...

So, as no one likes to continue, I digged and found something cute for your enjoyment.

Its again a sports protoype, and here are three clues:

- Its not an MG

- Its not from the 50s

- Its not what you might expect

Buena notte,

Andreas

PS: Photo gear was Summicron C 40 with Epson R-D1
