This is a wild styled car  The front fenders (and lamps) look too new, must be replacement though. I think from the details it's still a late 65, early 66 model. The new front fenders with upright lamps came around 68.

I think it should be Bernds turn plus I cannot post from my iPad.

HOLY MOLY, Du bist dran!

Thanks Ronald,

concerning this Beetle I think that the rims are from the latest models - they are the flat types for 4-nut version and not for the 5-nut 'Porsche' typ. Anyway a dramatically mixed car.

Here my contribution. A nice car with nice people in it. The colormanagement looks great....:D

Have fun!

ps. The lady is the driver.......

Interesting that his goggles have prescription lenses, suggesting he didn't buy them just as a novelty item. Yikes@

The car looks like late '50s or '60s American, and the blue "ponytail" suggests a crude, home-built rollover bar. But the etching on the vent wing suggests Latin america.

Sorry, gentlemen,

there is nothing crude - the deep blue iron is a ferry port mechanism and the car isn't made in the USA........

The googles are more than 15 years old - except the glass....

But let's concentrate to the car

bmw 502 or 501b 1955?

But I think the 501 for sure. It has no chrome strip on the site and the 502 does.

For real sure I have to see the front. Two headlights for the 501. Four is 502. And if it was not a Cabrio the smaller backwindow is for the 501a the bigger 501b or 502. Also the back would reveil. 501 is 6cyl and 502 v8 (the sign on the back would tell ;) )

Bingo!

You are right. It's the 6 cylinder BMW 501 Kabriolet. The less weight of the smaller engine (compare to the V8) makes this car easy to drive, even in towns with parking etc.

More than 30 years in the hand of the current owner.

Cheers

Bernd

Stu, Ive seen an ad with the four Minis lined up in Kiss fatigue and googled to make sure i remembered correctly. Unless you had one or had seen an ad it would be hard to tell this was a mini, Kiss signatures or not. The lines and shapes have completely changed.

here's mine, another new design for 2011:
