I'm thinking late '50s from the UK, but it's still not coming to me.

I can't make up my mind if it is genuinely old or a modern retro. That sort of dashboard doesn't look very UKish to me but when I say these things I am usually wrong. Nice proper gear lever which again puts me back towards the fifties and what looks like a fly-off handbrake. I wonder if it is German?

Correct, Jeff. This is a 1959 Arnolt Bristol with Bristol 404 chassis and drivetrain, Italian body by Bertone and shipped to Indiana for final finishing. Similar models placed first, second and fourth in class at the 1955 Sebring 12 hour race in their first outing.

OK.

Not as beautiful as the last entry and certainly a bit more mundane!

I had only seen one Arnolt Bristol, and it was when I was in high school. My thinking did not go far enough -- I thought of AC Bristol Ace , and should have kept going. Drat!

I'll admit that the Arnolt Bristol is a bit obscure, Stuart, but It's not like you lost the big lottery by one number. :p If Jeff hadn't gotten the answer, I'm sure that Ronald, you or another Forum member would have eventually "hit the jackpot."
