I tried Google, Wikipedia and God knows what else without any success, then it occurred to me that some years ago, when  I visited the Simeone Museum when I was on the East coast on business and stopped by to visit when I heard that they were doing a demonstration of their Porsche 917 in the parking lot. While there, I took in the museum. Very interesting, and I remembered that I picked up a leaflet listing all their cars, and since I never throw stuff like that away, that's what I referred to to determine that this mystery car is a 1916 Oakland 38 Speedster.

I'll need a day or two to organize my photo files and post a New Year;s car, so if someone has something interesting.......please have at it.

Finally managed to find a new 'mystery' automobile that I am sure I haven't posted before- I was going to say 'for the final 2023 round of this thread', but I suspect that this one too will be identified readily in time for someone to put up another puzzle car before this interminable 'annus horribilis' ends.

Stuart - your second guess, thinking it's front engined is correct.......but it's not a Porsche, rather, from a country South of the Alps.

Perhaps another crop will help narrow things down.

Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16V Evo II (the color indicates that it is the special model "Giallo Ginestra"; there is also a "Giallo Ferrari" with the same color but I think that it has black air intakes on the hood)

“Giallo Ginestra” imho. One of 220.

The 295(?) Giallo Ferrari were in the Ferrari yellow called “giallo fly” (think Dino) I’m not sure if the Ginestra are in that same paint code but it’s pretty similar…

As I expected, the clues I put up weren't nearly difficult enough - Andreas nailed it, correct on all accounts.

A wonderful car, and I especially remember it for it's steering feel........probably the best I ever experienced in any street legal road car.

SL / 24-90 V.E.

Your turn, Andreas

Thanks John! I once considered to buy an EVO II but had problems to find a suitable seating position as there is not much headroom.

Here we go again:
