A survivor from the 1960s. Marque and model please

I thought at first it might be the rather obscure Toyota Publica c1965 as the crop makes the car look very “saloon(sedan)-like” and the wheels have a slight Japanese 60s vibe….but at the risk of looking foolish I’m now thinking it looks like an early Sunbeam Tiger with a fitted hard top (the grille lower corner/indicator lamp seem very familiar)

Not a Tiger Nigel but you're so close you're bound to identify the 1968 Sunbeam Alpine with your next post.

It’s amazing sometimes how a clever crop - even when showing a lot of the car - can throw your perception (allowing for the fact I looked at it on a phone)

I really was initially looking at dull 60s Japanese saloons till I started to look a bit closer…

I’ll tr to find something later - currently laid up with a bad Covid infection

OK - any thoughts on this blurry crop (focus point was rather closer to the camera...)

Could it be a Coombs Jaguar 3.8 Mk.2, although I am not at all sure about the air intake, which looks much more VW engine cover like but the only one with louvres is the Samba and the louvres are different.

Philip.

Yes Wilson has it exactly right - and Pippy is correct too - that's why the louvres were "important" as they are not sitting at their usual "500" angle in the photo.

It was parked right next to the Lincoln Continental Givency Edition that I posted before, on the street in London, and made an amusing "Little and Large" comparison. I know which one I would have preferred to drive home in!
