Just to be a complete smart-ar... pedant I might mention that the design of the rear lamp-housings seen here was actually the third style used on the VW. According to the records available to me, that particular type was used for just under six years between 04 August 1955 (chassis # 1-0 929 746) and 02 May 1961 (chassis # 385 6472). The lights are not LED, I think the effect is an artefact generated by the lens used. It puzzled me too. The car is in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.

pippy Posted May 14, 2024 Share #21734  Posted May 14, 2024 As things have been less than straightforward for you recently, Wilson, I do hope you will not mind if I post a new Puzzle-Car in your stead? I did have to google the Hellcat as I'm not particularly au fait with the model. Interesting choice, Stuart! No; not the Hellcat. Having checked the Wiki entry I can confirm my (strongly-held) suspicion that the engine of the Mystery Marvel possesses fewer cylinders and displaces a lesser-amount of whatever it is an engine displaces than the Dodge. I will post a second crop later today! Philip.
pippy Posted May 15, 2024 Share #21737  Posted May 15, 2024 OK; here's another crop of this fearsome beast. Hot-air-vent to assist in engine-cooling. Hardly surprising that it needs to be so large! Not quite few enough yet, Stuart! Time for a third crop? Here we can appreciate the panel-beaters' skill and understanding of aerodynamics where they formed the sheet metal in order to further lower the Cd of this extraordinary vehicle. Perhaps. NigelG Posted May 15, 2024 Share #21740  Posted May 15, 2024 Well I would say from the second and third crops it’s possibly one of the almost infinite versions of a 2cv Fourgonnette I think? Maybe late 60s early 70s?
