Time for another pic?

Perhaps these subtle Body-Piercings will help to explain matters;

Ooohhhh!!!!!

So very close, Viv, that I will give you the coconut. It's actually a GT3 RS.

Here are a few snaps of the full thing;

And just for fits'n'giggles here is a snap showing its playmates. The one in the middle (my favourite of the trio) is a Cayman GT4 and bringing up the rear is a 911 'Dakar';

Thanks for playing, folks, and over to Viv for the next head-scratcher!

No, a very early model...

Hmmm....that depends, Viv, on one's definition of "very early"......😺......

Just to be a complete smart-ar... pedant I might mention that the design of the rear lamp-housings seen here was actually the third style used on the VW. According to the records available to me, that particular type was used for just under six years between 04 August 1955 (chassis # 1-0 929 746) and 02 May 1961 (chassis # 385 6472).

Carry On!.....😸.......

I was assuming a late type Golf based Beetle on the basis of the LED lights.

Wilson

No, not the Golf-based Beetle but the original.

The lights are not LED, I think the effect is an artefact generated by the lens used. It puzzled me too.

The car is in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.

As things have been less than straightforward for you recently, Wilson, I do hope you will not mind if I post a new Puzzle-Car in your stead?

A Power-Bulge if ever I saw one! But to which Bewildering Behemoth do these Beauteous Bends Belong?!?!

It makes me think of the Dodge Hellcat

Ah!

I did have to google the Hellcat as I'm not particularly au fait with the model. Interesting choice, Stuart!

No; not the Hellcat. Having checked the Wiki entry I can confirm my (strongly-held) suspicion that the engine of the Mystery Marvel possesses fewer cylinders and displaces a lesser-amount of whatever it is an engine displaces than the Dodge.

I will post a second crop later today!

OK; here's another crop of this fearsome beast.

Hot-air-vent to assist in engine-cooling. Hardly surprising that it needs to be so large!

Hmmm.  I was thinking Dodge Charger (or if not that, Challenger).  One can get them with fewer cylinders.

Not quite few enough yet, Stuart!

Time for a third crop? Here we can appreciate the panel-beaters' skill and understanding of aerodynamics where they formed the sheet metal in order to further lower the Cd of this extraordinary vehicle. Perhaps. (Perhaps not, of course);

EDIT : If no-one has guessed it by tomorrow morning UK time I promise to post a more meaningful clue!......😸......
