Open to all who would like to post.

Below is the Frazer Nash Le Mans Mk.1 I thought it was, albeit the almost identical sports car version to this Formula 2 car. Both doors on the F2 car are welded shut to meet the regulations for F2 for 1952, so as you hop out over the top of the sealed door, you can see how easy it is to miss your footing and press your leg against the exhaust. This one is in full race trim with a  BS spec 2 litre Bristol F2 engine putting out 172 BHP (if you try for 173, it will go bang). It is not an easy car to drive with a quite narrow power band from the long stroke engine of 4200 RPM to 6000 and only a 4 speed gearbox. The brakes are drum all round and quite grabby until you get them quite hot and then it is a skilled job to keep them between good working temperature and too hot when they rapidly fade away to little to no brakes at all. The pedal is very long, so heel and toeing a bit of a challenge on this car with a dog clutch gearbox and straight cut gears. Handling is in the interesting category. The later Mk.2 cars used a De Dion rear axle which made them a lot less skittish at the back albeit a fair bit heavier, hence for vintage racing, generally the lighter Mk.1 is preferred.

Allow me to take a crack at the next one - rare, quite exotic, much too expensive to be a commercial success given the displacement, but a fascinating and fairly successful little sports racer in its day.

Manufacturer, approx. year and model, please.

I should have known that posting two 'clue photos' would cut this short, but I think it's a difficult car to crop - the lines are very distinctive and revealing even a small portion of the grill (or any of the area between the headlights ) would have made this exercise even shorter.

Wilson is correct, of course. It is a 1954 OSCA MT4 1500 sports racer.  About 80 were produced in total, with Morelli, the coach builder of this particular car accounting for 19 of the total. The highlight of the Maserati brother's efforts with this model ( which occurred after they had sold Maserati to the Orsis & established O.S.C.A. ) came in 1954 when Stirling Moss won the 12 hours of Sebring outright in a twin to this car, earning OSCA the nickname of 'Giant Killers'.

Well seen, Wilson.... I assume it's open to anyone who has something interesting to post. Thanks for participating.

Stirling Moss was racing one of these lovely looking little cars right up until he had the horrible accident falling down the lift shaft in 2010. I was at the Goodwood Revival in the mid 2000's with a friend racing an Italian Formula Junior called an Autosud (better known as the "Awful Sod"). Stirling was having ignition problems with his OSCA and we lent him our spare Magneti Marelli distributor, which cured the problem. When something went wrong with one of Stirling's cars he tended to get a bit on the intense side - no more Mr. Nice Guy.
