So sad to see a once proud manufacturer produce such eyesores to the exclusion of anything else. RIP Rolls Royce and, from what I have seen of your output over the last 15 years or so, may it happen sooner rather than later. Philip. A cousin has several older, 70s / 80s (I've only seen his Sliver Wraith 2) and we'd both agree with you!

B3 engine. 200 hp instead of 170. About half of the total production went to Japan, where the basic BMW Z1 wasn´t available. 31 of the 66 cars were sold in Europe. wlaidlaw Posted January 19, 2024 Share #21225 Posted January 19, 2024 Ronald, It is not just Alpina wheels? I was at a dinner in Cambridge in around 2005, to which I had driven in my Alpina B10 V8S. I came back from dinner to find my Alpina propped up on bricks and no wheels, so there is a BMW somewhere in that area, going round on my nice 19" diameter Alpina wheels. Recovery was a bit of a nightmare as I had to borrow some wheels and wheel nuts from the local BMW dealer, so I could drive the car to their garage, to wait 2 weeks until Sytners delivered a new set of wheels and tyres. Luckily my insurance company said that did not affect my no claims bonus. Wilson

stuny Posted January 20, 2024 Share #21230 Posted January 20, 2024 Wilson - Year and country of origin are correct, but not a Peugeot. This marque did not survive long at all.
wlaidlaw Posted January 20, 2024 Share #21231 Posted January 20, 2024 How about a 1911 Levecque Frères "Super" Cyclecar. The cooking version had a 540cc Anzani single but the "Racing" version had a 977cc Anzani twin and must have been quite exciting to drive and even more exciting trying to get it to stop, with rear brakes only, the size of a small saucer. stuny Posted January 20, 2024 Share #21232 Posted January 20, 2024 I knew you'd get it, Wilson. This one has the 977cc Anzani twin, and was made in 1912. It's in Prince Ranier's collection. If you're up to it, it's your turn. Welcome, dear visitor! Herr Barnack Posted January 20, 2024 Share #21237 Posted January 20, 2024 As I understand it, the 1968 Carabo is as unobtainable as it is beautifully futuristic - only 18 were ever built. 🙁 https://www.motor1.com/news/663288/1968-alfa-romeo-carabo-concept-displayed/
wlaidlaw Posted January 21, 2024 Share #21238 Posted January 21, 2024 I think there was only a single Carabo made. There were only 18 chassis of the underlying 33 Stradale made by Marazzi for Alfa Romeo. Wilson
NigelG Posted January 21, 2024 Share #21239 Posted January 21, 2024 Yes - just a single prototype. Love how “A” of the model badge on the rear illustrates the scissor doors (I’ll try to find a close-up image)
Rona!d Posted January 21, 2024 Share #21240 Posted January 21, 2024 The Carabo was the car I was pretty proud owning one as a kid. Matchbox, but awful color, sort of pink 😝
