Fascinating - and very impressive - specs as far as the T12 Targa Florio version is concerned not to mention the T-F result itself! On the whole I consider the range to be very atttractive cars and vans. Philip.

(I had looked into Tatra but have not found this one) Yes, Alain got it, but I didn't refresh my screen before adding my too late hint. 12 hours ago, wlaidlaw said: I think it is Czech and I believe this car is a replica. Wilson Actually, the real car, not a replica. You can see it, along with a large number of ordinary and extraordinary vehicles. The museum is on the outskirts of Nashville, and worth the visit. Also, pay the extra amount to visit their basement, called "the vault." 3 hours ago, Lelmer said: Tatra Targa Florio 1928 Well done - It's your turn.
wlaidlaw Posted October 30, 2023 Share #20826 Posted October 30, 2023 There seem to be at least two of these Tatra Targa Florio cars around but with the original in the museum as referenced by Stuart above. My reference book pointed to a replica made some years ago by a classic car restoration company called Ecorra in the Czech Republic. I would guess they would have started with and re-bodied a late 1920's Tatra 12HP saloon or cabriolet, with its 4 cylinder air cooled engine (my book comments that the original drophead coupé was extremely noisy but with a good ride from the very rare for the period, all round independent suspension). Ecorra will apparently make more of these Targa Florio replicas on request. Wilson

wlaidlaw Posted October 31, 2023 Share #20833 Posted October 31, 2023 The transverse front leaf spring suspension makes me think of a Model T Ford but it looks a rather too well made car for that. I think those may be Gray and Davis acetylene headlamps, which would cost almost as much together with their gas generator, as a whole Model T.
