lx1jon Posted September 14, 2022 Share #18441  Posted September 14, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) All fascinating stuff (both Tatra and VW). I’ll post the next puzzle when I’ve had a chance to rummage something on the computer… Thanks to Ronald for posing the challenging Tatra crops! pippy Posted September 14, 2022 Share #18442  Posted September 14, 2022 4 minutes ago, Rona!d said: It was a "works" Karmann, a 1952 model (= Rheumaklappe") but made in 1951. My grandfather ordered a folding top limousine and a craftman in our town ordered a convertible but was unhappy with the cabriolet roof. So they switched their orders at the VW dealer. I know my dad has photographs of the cabrio in his albums, not sure if I have scanned them. Have to check. Your "Heb" might be one of the vehicles some guys privately switched into Hebmüllers. At a VW Cabriolet meeting in the early 1980s (with 300+ cabrios!!!) my dad explained me the car and what was "not original". If I recall right, you could order conversion kits somewhere (on a private basis). Wonderful! If it was a '51-built Karmann then it would still have featured the one-piece side windows as quarterlights didn't appear until the Oct. '52 face-lift mentioned earlier. As far as the Hebmuller is concerned it was definitely the real deal. I won't go into a very long explanation as to why I know it to have been genuine but you can trust me on this point! Philip.
lx1jon Posted September 14, 2022 Share #18443  Posted September 14, 2022 OK, here's the next one. Hope it keeps you entertained — I'm already running short of ones that are likely to be hard enough! In principle make, model and year, but some vagueness is probably acceptable :–) Jonathan Welcome, dear visitor! Rona!d Posted September 16, 2022 Share #18444 Â Posted September 16, 2022 Late 1920s? (Someone has to start, although I planned a time out).

lx1jon Posted September 16, 2022 Share #18446  Posted September 16, 2022 Well, I think it's time for another clue. At least with this one there is little doubt what part of the vehicle it shows! wlaidlaw Posted September 17, 2022 Share #18447  Posted September 17, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think it might be a Renault KJ or NN from around 1922. The louvres are for the radiator behind the engine. Wilson

Rona!d Posted September 19, 2022 Share #18449 Â Posted September 19, 2022 I think some more input (wider crop) is required. It could be a taxi or light-duty commercial vehicle.
lx1jon Posted September 19, 2022 Share #18450  Posted September 19, 2022 OK, here is the third clue to this puzzle. I have one further crop in reserve and after that I will have to do a full picture. Anyway, maybe this one will be enough. Jonathan Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Rona!d Posted September 19, 2022 Share #18453 Â Posted September 19, 2022 Possibly a vintage Tatra or Skoda (Laurin Klement).

Rona!d Posted September 19, 2022 Share #18456 Â Posted September 19, 2022 My other suggestion would have been an AC from AC cars, maybe the 12hp model. Only the head beams would be too high positioned for an AC. I think I have seen the center locks logo somewhere but cannot remember at which car. lx1jon Posted September 19, 2022 Share #18457  Posted September 19, 2022 Not Victoria, not AC. It’s more mainstream… Jonathan

Rona!d Posted September 19, 2022 Share #18460  Posted September 19, 2022 The way should be paved now, can close my list. I‘ll lean back and just watch if somebody will find the car in question 😉
