Wilson was that still Earl Snodgrass from Arizona who has found it in the 1980s in the UK (where he drove it flawlessly from Edinburgh to Stratford upon Avon on a 1.100 miles rallye)? He added a hydraulic system on the rear brake to meet modern traffic requirements. That truck is good for 70 mph even with just 45hp.

I don't think that was him. This seemed to be a fairly local rally for folks from the north east of the USA. The Mercedes driver commented that they had had horrible weather for both days so far and this was also a grey skies day with drizzle.

PS Sorry about the quality of the photos. My M8 was drying out in a bag of rice, from getting rather wet the day before this and these are taken with my wife's C-Lux.   I ran the crop through Gigapixel AI to sharpen it up.

A 1968 Volvo P 1800 ?

I´m not sure about 1968 but I would say it´s a late P1800 "S" which is around 1968. Your turn!

* The chrome trim on the side is "old school fat" but the front bumper is the modern version. I´m not familiar with the different configurations of different markets in that relation and a ",mix" can happen at restaurations depending on the ideas of the owner and available parts.

If not for "museum grade correctness" I´d install the old style front bumpers and then it would be perfect for my taste.

Always loved the fat side chrome which came from the early UK bodies which had been produced until 1969 when the machines went from Pressed Steel/UK to Sweden.

Final assembly and even body paintjob had been moved from Jensen to Sweden after just two years in 1963 because of quality issues.

Paintjob of the early UK cars was so bad that the US importer (the one who made the lousy P1800 cabrios) repainted many NEW delivered cars before he sold it.

That´s all I know (except engine/gearbox issues and that the later E/ES injection versions had that ugly fuel door on the rear fender).

Thank you, Ronald. This next puzzle car is a 'one of one' edition by a manufacturer of performance / racing cars. I present the generous crop in black & white since the color version would immediately reveal the identity of this gorgeous, charming automobile.

Probably too easy for some on this forum but I hope those not familiar with this jewel will enjoy seeing it in one of its relatively rare public appearances.

The radiator looks Alvis but I think it may be an HRG.

An HRG it is............in fact, It's a 1938 HRG Airline Crofts Coupe, the only example of this design ever created. Major E. Halford, one of the three partners ( Halford, Robins and Godfrey ) who formed the HRG organization, commissioned the first and only closed car they would ever produce, utilizing an MG rear 'module' and having A. Crofts coachbuilders design & fabricate the slender, elegant front end.

After 48 years of owning this beautiful specimen, the owner of this car for 48 years had it faithfully 'refreshed' & showed it at the Amelia Island & Pebble Beach Concours before selling it through Bonham's.
