a.j.z Posted December 7, 2017 Share #10489 Ā Posted December 7, 2017 Another TVR, but a Tuscan (I do not have a better photo). There was a group of TVRs at a motorsport event at the Red Bull Ring. Not my taste but interesting.

stuny Posted December 7, 2017 Share #10491 Ā Posted December 7, 2017 The Tuscan was sold in the US by Jack Griffith as the TVR Griffith and had a 260 cubic inch Ford V8 engine.Ā A tiny, pretty car, though I never drove one to see exactly how scary they may have been. IkarusJohn Posted December 7, 2017 Share #10492 Ā Posted December 7, 2017 (edited) Okay, this one should be easy (sorry for the grainy crop). Ā I want the actual model, not just the maker. wlaidlaw Posted December 7, 2017 Share #10493 Ā Posted December 7, 2017 (edited) The Tuscan was sold in the US by Jack Griffith as the TVR Griffith and had a 260 cubic inch Ford V8 engine.Ā A tiny, pretty car, though I never drove one to see exactly how scary they may have been. Ā Stuart,Ā Ā Very scary. I tried one out at Snetterton in 1969. I was there doing set up work on the one and only Mk.2 427 Cobra All the rest of the 427's very sensibly used the far superior and stiffer Mk.3 chassis, with 4" ladder tubes and the other stiffening mods designed by Brian Waite for AC, on the original John Tojeiro designed AC Ace chassis. I reckoned the TVR Griffiths with a 289 full race Holman and Moody engine, made the 427 Mk.2 Ā Cobra feel like a pussy cat. Its very short wheelbase made it very twitchy and the drive shafts' spines, to accommodate plunge, tended to lock up under torque, which could make the rear suspension go solid. Four laps were more than enough for me. I would have had to take a lot more brave pills before any more laps in the Griffiths.Ā Ā Wilson Edited December 7, 2017 by wlaidlaw
