wlaidlaw Posted October 18, 2015 Share #7909 Posted October 18, 2015 I suppose it has to be a Cresta E then. Wilson

As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Correct. This must be a pre-1956 Cresta (grille has vertical slats) … the luxury version of the Velox and Wyvern. Your turn Wilson. wlaidlaw Posted October 18, 2015 Share #7911 Posted October 18, 2015 Dunk, My uncle was due to be given one of successors to the Cresta E as a company car in around 1957/58 - probably the very transatlantic looking PA. Just before he got it, the bank he worked for changed their car policy and gave him the much cheaper Victor F instead. When he came to see us in his new car, my father looked at it, shook his head, pointed at the "upside down" quarterlights and said "George - did they do that on both sides". I don't think my uncle was very amused (as a Aberdonian bank manager, he had had his sense of humour surgically removed in any case). I think I am out of car photos and in any case, it is time someone else had a go. Wilson
stuny Posted October 19, 2015 Share #7912 Posted October 19, 2015 How about this, which has to be the most horrid auto I've seen so far this year: Welcome, dear visitor! stuny Posted October 19, 2015 Share #7914 Posted October 19, 2015 Very amusing and correct. In spite of yourself, you've won again. I saw this silly monster approaching as I waited at a red light. wlaidlaw Posted October 19, 2015 Share #7915 Posted October 19, 2015 I really am completely out of photos for cars I have not posted before so again - can someone step into the breach? Wilson
Michael Hiles Posted October 19, 2015 Share #7916 Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) OK. I am not at all knowledable in these matters but here we are. This is not my picture, and the resolution is pretty awful. The car belonged to a friend. It was once in a museum show. It may be obscure, but given the depth of knowledge here, maybe it is too easy. A little detail might be nice - this is not off-the-shelf. Welcome, dear visitor!
