stuny Posted May 28, 2013 Share #4962 Posted May 28, 2013 If so I was thinking one of the Ferrari berlinettas from the late 1950s early 1960s.

a.j.z Posted May 28, 2013 Share #4964 Posted May 28, 2013 Stu, yes, you are almost there. This car had a famous owner who liked the "music" of the V12. As this may be difficult just from the interior here is another crop. Welcome, dear visitor! luigi bertolotti Posted May 29, 2013 Share #4965 Posted May 29, 2013 (edited) Is the so called 250 GT "Lusso" : the four little instruments in front of the driver (and the two big ones at side) are a very distinguishing detail of this beautiful car. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Eric Clapton and Steve McQueen had one.... but the most distinguished user was Giovanbattista Pininfarina, who kept one for his personal usage. a.j.z Posted May 29, 2013 Share #4966 Posted May 29, 2013 (edited) Correct Luigi - and a very nice picture of the car. Over to you! The owner of the car that I had posted was Herbert von Karajan (a quite famous Austrian conductor and for some maybe even more distinguished than Mr Pininfarina) who admitted that it is not possible to replicate the sound of the V12 of this car, which he was very fond of, with an orchestra, which is -coming from him - quite a big praise. Yes, the instruments are quite unique but on the Internet you rarely find photos showing the interior when searching for a car. stuny Posted May 29, 2013 Share #4967 Posted May 29, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Luigi & Andreas - The "Lusso" is frequently called "the most beautiful Ferrari," and therefore ask if you've additional photos, please post them. A few years ago a beautiful red over black was on display in Rockefeller Center. That particular one had a 275 engine which the owner claimed was originally installed at the factory. I don't know if that's correct. Von Karajan is well known in the US to followers of classical music and of virtually anyone with a few Deutsche Grammofon recording. Fiat 124 engine but front-wheel drive, which Fiat considered "market-risky" in the '60s... and preferred to "test the market" through an affiliate brand. Welcome, dear visitor! Guest ksmart Posted May 30, 2013 Share #4977 Posted May 30, 2013 Oops, Luigi, surprised myself, had been just a rough guess. Wasn't the A 111 some pioneer after the british Mini/1100/1800 and Peugeot 204 and the 'primula', of course? Please continue with a new pic, because I'm not at home for some days and without access to my own computer. Thanks! Lenn
