Your guesses are a compliment to the designers of that car. No US, no Japanese. No Guigiaro (maybe a "copied" Guigiaro design).

Macrobernd was (accidently?) on a very good trace though. It is indeed a Wartburg (nobody would expect when seeing the complete car). So maybe he can also provide the models name?

Wartburg 355 - well done, Bernd! Your turn.

Note: When talking to the old development department and advertising people from former Wartburg factory they often have an undertone saying: "VW and others copied our ideas - we were leading in design and construction but had not the permission from the government". In a way it sounds like: "We designed the Golf, we designed the Passat, we designed the Polo - VW copied our ideas". I cannot say if and in which direction industrial spying happened but I can tell you the brands and models of real existing western cars the design models of AWE look like ;)

The Wartburg 355 prototype (1968) is said to be the role model for the VW Passat (serial production 1973).

Well, the role model for the Wartburg could well be the Renault 16 (press release 1964, serial production started 1965). Another hint is that the Wartburg prototype used a Renault engine!

So who made "the original" then? Renault!

Mia redn Englisch hia :D

You are right. Marc has home field advantage. The car is a BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept Car (BMW i8) and this one is the original car from the set of "Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol".
