stuny Posted April 18, 2012 Share #3323 Posted April 18, 2012 John - James said it wasn't from the US. I'd guess first European, and second from the IK.
jevidon Posted April 18, 2012 Share #3324 Posted April 18, 2012 John, You are so close you should be able to touch it. Here is another view; something that will distinguish it from a 540K. J_Thompson Posted April 18, 2012 Share #3325 Posted April 18, 2012 Well then, would it be a 540Ks (special), like what Hermann Goring used to own?
jevidon Posted April 18, 2012 Share #3326 Posted April 18, 2012 While Fat Hermann owned the model I showed, it was not a 540K. As a matter of fact, a neighbor in my community owns Göring's car and it sports a license plate that says "GARBO". but it is not a 540K. Come on now. You are so close. Here's another view. J_Thompson Posted April 18, 2012 Share #3328 Posted April 18, 2012 A Google image search gave me this image: 1935_MercedesBenz_540KSpezialRoadster2 They claim that it's a 540K Special Roadster. So tell me, what other details am I missing? It's the identical image as yours.

stuny Posted April 18, 2012 Share #3330 Posted April 18, 2012 the 500? Is the last photo a Pocher model?
jevidon Posted April 18, 2012 Share #3331 Posted April 18, 2012 (edited) Ronald is correct and John almost has it. Here is another picture of the entire car which, while not GARBO, is a living twin of her. You are sooo close. Welcome, dear visitor! jevidon Posted April 18, 2012 Share #3332 Posted April 18, 2012 (edited) I missed Stuart's response. It is not a Pocher model. It is a 500K. Stuart wins and the next car is on him. The easiest way to tell it from the later 540K is that the skirting on the fenders (wings) are deeper on the 540 and the 500 has an exposed spare tire, although I suspect that some 540's may have been exposed and 500's concealed depending on the coach works. The 500K also had generally leaner and in my opinion prettier lines over all. Edited April 18, 2012 by jevidon
stuny Posted April 18, 2012 Share #3333 Posted April 18, 2012 James - Lovely shot, lovely car. this was the first car that Barbara ever noticed and like4d. she saw it a few years before meeting me, at harrah's in Reno. jevidon Posted April 19, 2012 Share #3334 Posted April 19, 2012 Morgan 3 wheeler, aka Moggie Trike.
stuny Posted April 19, 2012 Share #3335 Posted April 19, 2012 James - Correct. The original Moggie trike was made from 1909 to 1952. This one is a 2012, and in its most basic form costs US$50,000. Because of lack of things like air bags it cannot be registered in the US as a car, but it can be registered as a motorcycle. The Morgan rep showing the car at the NY International Auto Show last week suddenly lighted up when I used the term, "Moggie." Here are some shots of it, and now it's your turn. jevidon Posted April 19, 2012 Share #3336 Posted April 19, 2012 Even at my advanced age, it is still one of my dream cars...or bikes. I'm running out of ideas, but I'll work on it.
Andreas.Pichler Posted April 19, 2012 Share #3337 Posted April 19, 2012 James, just to deliver an idea - what about an Espada? Nice photos possible which will produce lots of answers which will let us in a dark labyrinth of automobile design ;-) Cheers, Andreas

stuny Posted April 20, 2012 Share #3340 Posted April 20, 2012 It's amusing how the crop makes it look as though the rear has been raised one or two meters off the ground.
