I didn't feel like watching more than once, so I can't name every car. What I got a kick out of was the Le Mans running start to the cars which resulted in the Alfa Giulietta closed coupe getting smartly off the line before the D Jag notwithstanding the Alfa having doors while on the open Jag the crew simply jumped in. I also enjoyed seeing the lumbering Mark VII Jag sedan (saloon) leading several Italian super cars to the first turn. The MGA leading the DB4S before Milan showed some heroic driving and I concluded that under its bonnet must have been a modified RR Merlin engine. Oh, and the navigator in what appeared to be a D Jag (I really couldn't tell, but it was painted a very smart BRG so it could have been an Aston M) toward the end of the clip was holding a gun. It's probably the only way they could get the driver to appear in this turkey.

Great fun!

Almost as much fun as the now priceless cars were the cheesy effects of the actors in front of projections.

Partly the reason I love watching these old movies, Stuart.

Stuart, James,

sorry if there have been any misunderstandings, my intention was just to make a (little bit funny) statement in the sense of "Dont go so fast, wait for me, will be pat of the party...".

So, I shut up right now ;-)

Cheers, Andreas

Not a problem No offense taken:).

Gerd named it. Here it is in full splendor. I don't know about you, but I think this is one of the prettiest cars ever. Next.

I'm not sure, but this may have been the actual Mille Miglia entry driven by Juan Manuel Fangio in 1952, since I don't

believe there was more than one built.

As far as I remember only 3 spiders and 1 coupe were made but never raced. The Fangio car was a 6C3000CM that was inspired by the Disco Volante. The Disco Volante's itself being not too successful on the track. At least 1 of the Spiders was "reworked" into the "Disco Volante a fianchi stretti" - or with straight sides - that is now in the Museum in Mulhouse (former Schlumph-collection) famous for its Bugatti's. A picture of that car hereunder.

I will have to start digging for a new challenge.

I bow to your superior historical knowledge.

Come to think of it, the enclosed wheel wells

would be very tough on tire and brake temperatures,

especially in the pre-disc brake era. The Shlumph car

noting the reflection of the side view is very pretty with the

open wheel wells and shortened rear quarter. Very

Scaglietti like. The body was by Touring. Another

picture of of to follow.

Thanks, it's just that I'm a "little" obsessed by Alfa Romeo but I far from know all I want to know about Alfa.

Anyhow digging in my car pictures I found maybe an interesting subject. And to get you on the way the car is from the old continent but did not make into mass production.

Also I saw the other day on the net that Touring has made a modern Disco Volante for the Geneva Motorshow based on the present day 8C Competizione. But I like the old one's better.
