OSCA?

I am back from a trip to Europe, and apologize for bailing on the game without posting. Because we were planning to pass through Naples on the way to Pompeii, and I had heard about rampant petty crime there, I decided not to bring a Leica along this trip, and instead found a Canon Model P with a 50mm f1.4 Canon lens to bring along. Well, Pompeii got rained out, but the Canon P was spectacular. Very solid (not quite Leica), and the lens is first rate. This is something of a confession, since I bleed Leica red (dot), but I had to come clean. Out of respect for the fact that this forum is dedicated to the mother brand, I will not post any pix taken with the you know what.

Regards

John W

Not based on a road car although for a lot of parts stuff from another makers road car was used such as the engine and also not English.

John,

Gerd -

Ian impressed me again. Is this the basis for the car? this is in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

Stuart,

It is indeed a competition spider version of the GT car in the MoMa in New York. Here are some more pictures taken during the Spa-Italia Festival of 2004.

A view 3/4 aft showing the aerodynamic features of this little (1089 cc / 60 Hp) car. It was with this type of car that Nuvolari finished 2nd in the 1947 Mille Miglia after leading the larger part of the race until it started raining. Hence the name "Nuvolari Spyder"

Okay Luigi, you can't leave me that way! What are the other 3? Surely a Ducati 750/900 bevel drive makes the list?

Gerd, great choice of cars, it had me fooled into thinking Nardi.

Kent

:D Surely... but not exactly...

- Ducati Desmo mono (250/350/450)

- BMW boxer classic in general

- MV 750 twin cam 4 cyl.

- (a bit under) Ariel 1000 2+2 cyl.

I've had the BMWs in several configurations over the years and both single and twin Ducatis. A couple you missed that make my list that sadly I've never owned are the AJS 7R and the Manx Norton. Both beautiful to look at and wonderful to hear.

This thread is so much fun I don't want to see it languish, so here's another, and I am scraping the bottom of the barrel with it. I have no idea what its marque is but the winner will identify its city and its purpose. I'm sure somebody will get this today.

Is that Trier? Carry on down the road and there is the Cathedral. Just behind you is an excellent toy shop and to the right on the other side of the road is a shop that sells genuine Roman artefacts and .. I have no idea about the vehicle.

And just on the left is a sort of cafe/wein place where, on a sumer's day, there is nothing better than to sit outside with one of their sandwiches and local wines.

Now embarrass me and say that this is in Santiago or somewhere.

It's refrigerated and electric - I am going to Google this.

So, Googled, is it an Alke Electric refrigerated delivery van?
