What do you love about your M8

I think Luigi's straps have "for Leica" punched into the leather - mine has.

Mine neither ... nor!

My Luigi strap on M7 looks so (bombastically):

That one, on M8 is from China. They do not have Problems with making exact copys of a brand-label!:cool:

But I do not have much stomach-ache about it (wie say so in Germany), I didn'nt know that, as I ordered it and now I like the chinese strap more,

because it is more gracile, not so bombastic.

But an other problem exists: This strap is a little bit short. When you hold it in your Hand, Camera on it, this strap is only 46 cm long. Luigis strap is 56 cm (chinese people are not so tall, as germans be). :o

An other little Problem: the "rivet"? - right word? is unprotected. I used a "shrink tube" - a selfmade Word (!), to protect the camera.

The chinese one on M8:

PS: Because my English is to bad, I made some pictures to explain.

I hope they will show you the differences!

Kalle,

Luigi must have started putting "for Leica" on recently. I just checked my Digilux 2 strap from 2006 and it has "Leicatime" punched into the leather.

Your English is not so bad, we can understand you and your English is far better than my German. :)

Small size compared to a DSLR, solid feel as if it were chiseled from a block of metal instead of plastic feeling of DLSR. Even the lenses, especially, my titanium pre-asph 35 lux, have that substantial quality feel to them... Tri.

Well, rather to my own surprise, I actually rather like the crop factor, despite having always disliked both the 1.5x and 1.6x crop factors of some dSLRs and having gone down the Canon FF dSLR route as a result. I'm still trying to figure out why:eek:.

I like the look of it, the joy of using it, the IQ, the build and the Fact that it is a LEICA

Using it made me realize why Photography is a beautiful thing.

I'M LOVIN' IT "Don't tell McDonald's"

For some reason I'm finding myself agreeing with this: I think in my case I prefer the intimacy of the portraits when I use 50mm focal lengths.

Incidentally, I've just been taking some shots of my daughter sleeping in a room that was almost in total darkness - the images are better, sharper and more 'dimensional' than with the Nikon. No need for in-camera noise-reduction!

Awesome camera all-round, with great color, unmatched sharpness, and also beautifully balanced in the hand.

I actually like the crop factor. 50mm becomes small tele and I love it. 28 Elmarit is tiny. light and it gives me the 35mm angle. I wish Leica would make 28 lux.

It was said before but I also took my best shots with M8.

Cheers
