Guest Chris M Posted April 2, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 2, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I love the fact that it is a solid substantial weighty camera with out being bulky or over sized per its actual weight. I love the red dot and the fact that nobody really nows what it is in the usa. I love the fact that there is a plethora of m glass available to shoot with. I love the (ease of work arounds) in post processing with Capture One 5.1.1 latest update, to help with some of the (minor issues) associated with my M8. What do you like about it:) chris m. Advertisement Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Hi Guest Chris M, Take a look here What do you love about your M8. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
michaelm Posted April 2, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 2, 2010 I love the whole feel of the camera (M8.2, by the way). I love having to remove the bottom to get to the battery and the memorycard (it definitely takes me back to the old filmdays, which is the point I guess: never forget how it started). I love the handling, once I got used to it again after spending a lot of time with SLR's full of autofunctions. It takes digital back to basics: just photography, not pixels. What I don't love is, how easy the black paint starts looking scratchy, especially the bottomplate.
wda Posted April 2, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 2, 2010 Surely its unique feature is rangefinder focusing! So many generally accepted virtues with 'precision' high on the list.
photoshutter Posted April 2, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 2, 2010 I like it, because it is manual rangefinder, but, if it will be from Canon I'll like it more:D
farnz Posted April 2, 2010 Share #5 Posted April 2, 2010 I love that it lets me attach precision M lenses to a digital rangefinder camera and that it has no anti-aliasing filter, which allows the full resolution of the M lenses to be seen. schmolinski Posted April 2, 2010 Share #10 Posted April 2, 2010 I love it because my wife also is capable to shoot with that cam without any problems. Just frame and shoot...
wilfredo Posted April 2, 2010 Share #11 Posted April 2, 2010 that I am priviliged enough to own one Me three, and I concur with most of what has already been said, plus the fact that I've taken most of my my best pictures in the last few years with it. trs Posted April 2, 2010 Share #12 Posted April 2, 2010 That I can take it with me everywhere I go and nobody pays attention to it. Not so with my previous cameras, so I always had to get a P&S to carry it around.

;) Kalle http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-sammler-historica/97081-kaviar-8.html#post1286978 #145 Small, light, great lens, high resolution, much different from DSLR, I feel nearly the same as HenryWang. And it looks very good IMO, especially with a leather strap, with the old Summaron and the lens shade ITOOY and with a black dot. Kalle
wilfredo Posted April 3, 2010 Share #15 Posted April 3, 2010 I should also add to this that when it comes to B&W photography of people the M8 has the edge over anything else in the digital world.

Is that a Luigi? I bought the Leica a la carte black leather strap but suspect I should have bought a Luigis as they are reputed to be softer, cost about $50 less and have a shoulder pad. mtomalty Posted April 3, 2010 Share #17 Posted April 3, 2010 Love that mine held enough value to buy a 2nd 5DMkll recently :>)) Seriously, even though I recently sold mine (which I only had since November as it was really a test drive to see if I would still be comfortable using it commercially) what I loved about it, apart from the obvious differences from an SLR, was that when using an M rangefinder I would 'see' in a different way when working with the camera. Ultimately, the resulting files were just a little to small for much of my daily needs but the experience was positive enough to support a move to M9 in the near future. farnz Posted April 3, 2010 Share #19 Posted April 3, 2010 Beautiful camera, love the chrome lens and brown strap. Is that a Luigi? ... I think Luigi's straps have "for Leica" punched into the leather - mine has. Pete.
shootinglulu Posted April 3, 2010 Share #20 Posted April 3, 2010 Just got my Canon 5d2. It's shockingly large and plasticy but a useful camera for when i need it. To me it is just a good tool, it takes great pictures, but now i really appreciate how much i love my Leica. I knew i loved it but thought that possibly i erred on the side of being an slr girl. I'm not though, i found this out yesterday!
