vdb Posted March 20, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted March 20, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been working to achieve the film look with M9 files and CS4. Marple, in the foreground, responding to Butler's advances. Gotta love the old guy;)

pauledell Posted March 21, 2010 Share #2 Â Posted March 21, 2010 Virgil, Â A great shot. I like the tones lot. It looks like you are making excellent progress with your processing as is Butler is toward Ms. Marple. I am always pleased to see your family. melissah Posted March 21, 2010 Share #3 Â Posted March 21, 2010 its a beautiful shot and it has animals that i now love. Â so lets get picky shall we? 1st off i think the way you process is really good. if you want to change to get a look that you feel is more of your own signature go for it. as to replicating film, ok but as i see more and more of film like digital its looks canned, and not personal. thats not to say it isnt beautiful or to discourage you, im just bringing up the why of it. Â as for this shot. i think its a tad to vignetted on the bottom. i think i too often apply to much in that same spot. in your attempt at film (which btw is good) the application of grain on the snow, takes away from the snow. maybe less grain? i am assuming youre using the 50? the grain is taking away from the velvetyness you often get in the oof areas. background in this case. so the trees dont have that forever far away look to me. Â the fur is fantastic. as is all of the actual content. Â im alittle on the fence to point these things out as your trying new stuff and you might stop! please dont because its just my 2 cents. best, melissa
