And Jamie "I do care" BUT I'M NOT OBSESSED like Hmm??? ..... like allot of lost souls here on this forum who are thinking its going to make an already great file better, I no thats not true and so do you if you have any kind of sense. And anybody who even bothers to read this far into this post should have the message by now, it is unfortunately not going to happen, I would love to wager a far bet on that , lets say how about a $1,000.00?? I can cough that up easly. And really? how much of an inconvience, are these problems anyways? I'll be more than happy to buy back your M8 if your really that disgrunted about "all the issues with the M8", And yes, Leica has done the rite thing in continuing to move forward with new products and technology's such as the M9, S2 and the X1. and they need to focus 110% first and foremost on these and get new products, and get them all dialed in and bug free before even considering going back and worrying about an already great M8 that is already proved to be a fantastic tool for (Professional Work) if put into the rite hands (as it is) ...[with out having to wait for more firmware updates] Now I no you would agree there wouldn't you? As I mention, My source in NJ has stated to me that " THERE WILL BE NO M8 FIRMWARE UPDATE IN THE NEAR OR FORCEABLE FUTURE AT THIS POINT" however he did say that Leica is "very aware" of what forum members are bitching about. And Jamie Please remember Leica is grasping at straws rite now and has leverage all the new moneys into there most current products, ie; M9, S2, X1 and there new lens line. They are heavily behind and not very financially solvent, so now that I've told you what you didn't no, I ask you,.. don't you think its absurd to continue this thread? Jamie please read and read and then re read all my posts, then do a search on M8 firmware updates and then search again. erl Posted March 24, 2010 Share #142 Posted March 24, 2010 Chris, without putting emphasis on the point, as politely as possible I suggest before you start instructing other posters, maybe a closer look at your own posting which does come across as being obsessed and in need of a touch or spelling correction as well, which would assist reading. As far as obsession is concerned of course, there is no real problem if the poster feels so inclined. It is a forum after all and easily ignored (unless you are a mod). I've offered up an important piece of information here. You being a moderator should have thoroughly reviewed (ALL M8 threads) and then presented me with a rebuttal as to what my views are then maybe?? you would have a deeper understanding about the truth of this topic here. I have the intelligence to assess from what I have already read. I don't care what your sources (not established) say. I don't care if they are right or wrong. I don't care what you think on the subject, but don't pretend to tell me what to do, think or read. Now I have upped my attitude towards your style of posting be advised this is mild. I do not need to justify my position any more than you do but consider the difference between them. I have nothing to add for your benefit, other than my 'contact' with Leica only 2.5 hours ago advised me differently from your source. All that means is that one of them must be wrong! I have a lot of respect for you as we have chatted before, but, if you have read my initial response on this last page, I'm not insulting anyone, as I've stated in all of my posts above, people are waiting for an update, rite?, .... some with patients and some with out. I initially posted my thoughts and personal views about this thread, and then I made a call too (my confidential source) with in the company in NJ to find out exactly what I could expect in regards too an M8 update. It was not what I expected to here from him, NO M8 UPDATE IN THE NEAR OR FORCEABLE FUTURE. So I simply passed on the info, I hate to be the bearer of the truth here, but all of a sudden (I'm insulted and attacked) by several members initially for voicing out In a nice way my views. So maybe? in all fairness shouldn't you consider (how others) have posted here about my views? and their tone and insults towards me? The english vocabulary can be very arbitrary when used loosely, negative people tend to see or in this case (read) only what they want too (in parts), portions or lines, and take it completely out of context with out comprehending the total paragraph as a whole. However, if someone chooses to take pot shots at someone (especially me), I can promise you and everybody else here that I will stand my ground for what is true and what is rite. Maybe I should open a new thread? about how one should answer questions??? and interpret the english language in forums and threads such as this one? I'm definitely not an english major, I no how to speak politely until someone decides turn over the apple cart, then, and only then I shall decide on weather to Judge or be judged. BTW WE ARE WAY OFF THIS TOPICS SUBJECT. its not about how we speak but wether or not an update is imminent. ....... ITS NOT ........... For my part I am very happy for forum members to form their views on preceding posts, if it interests them, which I doubt. My final reminder is to advise you that respect towards other forum members is a requirement of the rules. Parts of your preceding outbursts could be deemed as personally disrespectful, which I will ignore, as I am unaffected by it. But be aware of the forum requirement. Also, posting in capitals is generally taken as shouting at someone and not appreciated here. With respect to your views about the FW update. That is fine. Disagree all you wish. Angelos Viskadourakis Posted March 25, 2010 Share #158 Posted March 25, 2010 Chris M we are a lot of photographers that we realy love the M8 and we only hopping for the changes that we had pointed out from day one ,now that the advancement of Leica know how on the subject can deliver with smaller effort ,paid or unpaid,in my opinion M8 is here to stay for very long time in vast numbers and will be the point of reference of Leica M digital rangefinder for many more years to come.I can change any time my M8.2 for an M9 which i extensively tested but i decided that i like to keep the M8.2 instead for soooo many reasons and i sense that there are few thousands photographers that did the same and mostly for the final essence of the image ,built quality-sapfire glass etc. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
