Advertisement Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Hi tom0511, Take a look here what the M9 should be IMO. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

jaapv Posted January 27, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 27, 2010 A few small wishes still - format speed and a few other ones, but on the whole +2. In fact it must be worrying for Leica to think up an appealing next model....
Guest Essemmlee Posted January 27, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 27, 2010 Leica could ask Reichman:)

In fact it must be worrying for Leica to think up an appealing next model.... Well judging by the M1-M7 evolution they will be happy with modest steps and so they should be. Better high ISO performance and a few additional tweaks will likely be all that is required for the M10 to pull in those in need of better low light performance (like me). jaapv Posted January 27, 2010 Share #7 Posted January 27, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica could ask Reichman:)I have this feeling they won't want to alienate 90% of their customer base for the wishes of a small, albeit vocal group. 250swb Posted January 27, 2010 Share #8 Posted January 27, 2010 I agree with Jaap, any irritations are small and it is exactly the camera I hoped it would be. Steve
jonoslack Posted January 27, 2010 Share #9 Posted January 27, 2010 I think mine should have come with an 0.95 Noktilux Hi James Yes, a free one . . . but why stop there, why not have the 21 and 24 luxes as well? I agree - It isn't ALL the camera I need, but it is all the rangefinder camera I need.
AlanJW Posted January 27, 2010 Share #10 Posted January 27, 2010 The M9 is not perfect but it is the finest camera I have owned and I enjoy it immensely. A great tool, and when I fail to produce good images, it is my fault and not the camera's. In other words, there is nothing in the camera that impedes creating great images; the problem usually lies between my ears. This is my personal view of course and Messrs Reichmann and Hogan may disagree, but their opinion(s) do not change mine.
likalar Posted January 27, 2010 Share #11 Posted January 27, 2010 it should be exactly what it is I am 99% happy with it. Ha, good post! I'm still grinning every time it meets my hand or eye. But being a left-eye user, I'm 99% unhappy with my nose. Larry
yanidel Posted January 27, 2010 Share #12 Posted January 27, 2010 Give me the option to set a higher minimum speed on Auto Iso, and I am 110% happy!
Fotomiguel Posted January 27, 2010 Share #13 Posted January 27, 2010 The M9 is really a wonderfull camera. I'm so happy with it. My one complain is the duration of the batterie. I work without autoreview and my batteries don't last as they do in the M8. I would love an iso dial and a sensor auto cleaning system. All the rest is just perfect. A dream come true. tdtaylor Posted January 27, 2010 Share #14 Posted January 27, 2010 Only a few small issues, but hasn't every new camera had a few. Hopefully many will be addressed with firmware, as one should expect. My major issue is with service. My new camera has been at Leica NJ for almost two weeks (severe front focus), calls every other day have yielded no answers, and all I am being told is they are backed up and it may take a while- even 6 to 8 weeks. Love the camera but would expect the service to match. At least they return phone calls, emails and are courteous, even if a little clueless.
E.M Posted January 27, 2010 Share #15 Posted January 27, 2010 shorter shutterlag. Etienne Michiels
jaapv Posted January 27, 2010 Share #16 Posted January 27, 2010 Does it really bother you? I find it rather unnoticeable. Shutterlag is something one unconsciously anticipates for in my experience. It is far, far shorter that the human reaction lag anyway.
Ed_K Posted January 28, 2010 Share #17 Posted January 28, 2010 Uh .... may be a bit more weather-proof? i heard we have to "baby" our M9 or even M8 now even if there's a drizzle.
dseelig Posted January 28, 2010 Share #18 Posted January 28, 2010 I wish for higher iso and a wideangle model that I can see 24 mm full frame in the viewfinder.
cheewai_m6 Posted January 28, 2010 Share #19 Posted January 28, 2010 i rather see upgrades than to see a 'new' model. the m8 body is built with the same material as the m9 isn't it? magnesium, and brass top bottom plates. these are materials with enormous longevity. once a digital passes it's useful life, it's worthless. but the body is still in awesome condition. so if the upgrades that come can be incorporated into the existing m9 body, it'll save wasting such exotic materials and actually using them for their lifespan. basically, i see the m8 in the not too distant future being a camera that is left unused, but craftmanship and quality is wasted by it not being used. michali Posted January 28, 2010 Share #20 Posted January 28, 2010 The M9 is by far my favorite of any camera I've ever owned. It is everything I want it to be. It's not perfect, (but what is?), the pleasure it gives me however is immeasurable. My only wish is that all the "experts" out there would stop trying to constantly redesign it.
