Very nice...but some post processing is need here

Carl I can say now without a doubt ..you have a very definite color cast happening..in this case a shift towards the yellow..this is now evident in ALL of your photos.... unless you like the idea of having a permanent yellow filter across your lens.....

Take the image into photoshop and using the "eyedropper" in Levels or Curves... trying touching an area you think is the exact white point or use the gray eyedropper for the gray point...you'll see what I mean

Thanks for posting

Cheers, JRM

Caryl,

I have not yet used the HDR feature on my DL4. Is the color shift a characterisic of the HDR or do you need to further adjust the WB of your camera? Does it have the same shift on the other color settings in RAW (standard or dynamic settings)?

I have downloaded the latest firmware but have not noticed any radical color shift using the standard color setting. I will have to experiment this myself when i become motivated.

Another great shot in terms of timing and composition - I really like the flock of birds chasing the one bird. I'd title it "The Chase". But the colors are not to my taste. I will definitely play with the DL4's new HDR mode for the sake of it, but so far I - based on what I've seen from you - I am not crazy about the results.

I would try to "save" the photo by desaturating all the way to B&W?

Caryl -

I knew it was yours before checking if it was. I prefer the surreal, stunning quality of the first. The 2nd & 3rd, for me, suffer by not having any detail in much o the surf, even though the detail is in #1.
