stunsworth Posted December 24, 2009 Share #121 Posted December 24, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm still receiving photographs that are larger - both in pixel dimensions and in Kb - than the forum guidelines of 960 pixels and 293k. I will be resizing any such images before they are made available to the judges and later the general public.

I may have - I only saw "forum guidelines"and my upload told me 390,6 Kb...If so, I apologize.
stunsworth Posted December 29, 2009 Share #128 Posted December 29, 2009 Did I break the compression barrier? I may have - I only saw "forum guidelines"and my upload told me 390,6 Kb...If so, I apologize. A couple of them were too large, but not by enough to get me worried. There have been a few images that were much too large though. They're the one's that I'll be addressing.

bill Posted December 30, 2009 Share #130 Posted December 30, 2009 ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! This has now exceeded my most optimistic expectations - and we are still going! A huge thank you to all who have contributed (sometimes twice ) - let's see if we can add another £1000 - at least! Regards, Bill
andybarton Posted January 3, 2010 Author Share #131 Posted January 3, 2010 Just a reminder to those people still to pass on their submission to Steve Unsworth. 960 x 960 pixels max. 290kb max State the category in which you wish the photograph to be considered. Please make sure your forum name is obvious in your email and include the receipt from JustGiving, which includes your name. With over 300 submissions so far, please help to make Steve's life as easy as possible in assembling the submissions for judging. Huge files, and no receipts etc make it extremely difficult. Thank you.
Quintych Posted January 13, 2010 Share #132 Posted January 13, 2010 The turn out for cancer research is beyond my expectations. I think we all, particularly the organizers of the book project, should be very pleased. I have finally sent in my pictures, hopefully some one will stick but even if I end up on the cutting room floor, it has been a pleasure to participate is such a worthy effort and it was fun to bootT Don

stunsworth Posted January 18, 2010 Share #136 Posted January 18, 2010 We have over 7,000 active members and so far I've received just under 400 photographs. There are still two weeks for people to submit photographs. If you've donated but not yet submitted, please send me some photographs. If you are considering donating but don't want to submit photographs, then please donate. All the money will go to a good cause.
sclamb Posted January 19, 2010 Share #137 Posted January 19, 2010 Steve I submitted three but I know that at least one is over the long dimension at 1024px. I am away now until the close date and submitted these in the early hours so that I didn't miss the deadline. Apologies that I have breached the dimension rule but I didn't have time to re-process the pics and used the jpegs that I already had. Sorry for any inconvenience if you need to re-size (I only just passed the limit though :-) ). Thanks for all your hard work and effort for this great cause.
