Advertisement Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Hi earleygallery, Take a look here Lotus Cortina. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest flatfour Posted September 8, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 8, 2007 They were very good when they were built properly. I was one of three Ford employees who had the line at Cheshunt shut down for a few days on quality grounds. Chapman was furious but you didn't argue with Ford. elansprint72 Posted September 8, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 8, 2007 Perfect timing! Perfect selection of shutter speed too. No doubt there will now be a discussion on the colour of the grass.
earleygallery Posted September 8, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted September 8, 2007 Thanks for the comments. Tony, I remember these when they weren't that expensive to buy, when they were considered a bit of a liability! (talking early 80's). Pete, I got lucky - I focussed on the people and used a slowish speed to get the 'motion blur' (amazing what you can do without photoshop). Its full frame, colour as is from the film/Snappy Snaps CD. topoxforddoc Posted September 8, 2007 Share #6 Posted September 8, 2007 James, Nice shot. Which day were you there? No 18 was Stirling Moss's car. I can't see whether he had his helmet on or off though! Chralie

Guest flatfour Posted September 9, 2007 Share #8 Posted September 9, 2007 James - The Lotus Cortina first appeared in 1965, I think. I was lent a factory Lotus Cortina to compete in a sprint. It was beaten by a Porsche Super 90 with 40 less hp. It wasn't the ideal car for such an event but it created quite a stir. Those of us who can remember those days would normally be surrounded by mundane BMC products and bog standard 1200cc Cortinas .
ctb Posted September 10, 2007 Share #9 Posted September 10, 2007 4 very tall members of the KKK seem to be entralled by the Lotus Cortina also Nice shot, and you can still identify the car even though it's just a blurr Chris
Guest user8952 Posted September 10, 2007 Share #10 Posted September 10, 2007 Perfect timing! Perfect selection of shutter speed too. No doubt there will now be a discussion on the colour of the grass. nice shot. I really like the blurred car, wich puts the emphesis on the spectators. no discussion. grass is supposed to be green, so no problem here. (however: if the people are green - there will be a discussion...). ok, the equipment is old-fashioned, but the photographer knows how to use it....
