A Leica collection is incomplete without an original "Black Paint" body ... so today have ordered a Leicaflex Mk I 'Pie shaped' in beautiful black c/w single cam 50/2. Unlikely it will be with me for at least two weeks and have been unable to steal the pics ... but will post some photos as soon as it arrives. I spent all day wondering whether to make the decision and then at almost 6pm decided to go ahead.

I regard the purchase as 'capital expenditure' ;)

Correct, me too tend always to put such expenses in the "assets" column of family's P&L... it makes you feel less guilty... :o (though, to be fair, one had to establish a depreciation schema... 30 years can be acceptable... ;))

Of course it only applies to Reflexs, although even they surely can';t go down much more, and surely should appreciate by the meager interest rates of today.

In contrast, my M3 has been a marvellous 'investment', although I doubt I'll ever 'realise' it:)

Congratulations for this woderful camera.

I look forward to see to see pictures...:)

A black paint Leicaflex MK I is rarer than

a black M3. A black Leicaflex MK I with

Motor, is less frequently than MP2...
