dkCambridgeshire Posted March 10, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 10, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) A Leica collection is incomplete without an original "Black Paint" body ... so today have ordered a Leicaflex Mk I 'Pie shaped' in beautiful black c/w single cam 50/2. Unlikely it will be with me for at least two weeks and have been unable to steal the pics ... but will post some photos as soon as it arrives. I spent all day wondering whether to make the decision and then at almost 6pm decided to go ahead. I regard the purchase as 'capital expenditure' dunk

(though, to be fair, one had to establish a depreciation schema... 30 years can be acceptable... )
gyoung Posted March 10, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 10, 2011 Correct, me too tend always to put such expenses in the "assets" column of family's P&L... it makes you feel less guilty... (though, to be fair, one had to establish a depreciation schema... 30 years can be acceptable... ) Of course it only applies to Reflexs, although even they surely can';t go down much more, and surely should appreciate by the meager interest rates of today. In contrast, my M3 has been a marvellous 'investment', although I doubt I'll ever 'realise' it:) Gerry

Paul Verrips Posted March 12, 2011 Share #7 Posted March 12, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) why you use a viewfinder on a SLR ?
dkCambridgeshire Posted March 12, 2011 Author Share #8 Posted March 12, 2011 why you use a viewfinder on a SLR ? The mirror has to be 'locked up' so that the camera body can accommodate the rear of the ultrawide lens mount - otherwise it would hit the mirror. dunk
