Advertisement Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Hi pum pum, Take a look here M9 Titanium $$$. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Humood Posted January 27, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 27, 2011 Well I sure didn't buy it but I held it in my hands at the Mayfair Leica Store and I can tell you it is AWSOME!! You just want to keep it in your hand! But I wouldn't buy it even if I had the money because I like buying cameras which I use daily not just collect and this is a collectors item for sure. I read somewhere that Asian Leica dealers always increase prices and the whole process turns into some sort of an auction!
gravastar Posted January 27, 2011 Share #3 Posted January 27, 2011 Since the camear was a limited edition and all were accounted for with pre orders I suspect any available on the free market would now be at a premium price. Bob.
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted January 27, 2011 Share #4 Posted January 27, 2011 It seems, B+H is expecting one for the general public in due course. Best GEORG
faraz Posted January 27, 2011 Share #5 Posted January 27, 2011 Interesting. I wanted to ask this same question and ask if anyone who purchased has actually been shooting it? I guess it would be nice to see some results. Unlike the M9, I think, Titanium looks more like a regular point and shoot, if it were not for the hood on the 35mm summilux. Just my opinion (I like this camera, and of course the weight savings are also very interesting to me).
farnz Posted January 27, 2011 Share #6 Posted January 27, 2011 ... Unlike the M9, I think, Titanium looks more like a regular point and shoot, ... That totally justifies the massive sum spent on 'D-zyne'. (Apologies, Faraz, I'm not getting at you.) Pete.
earleygallery Posted January 28, 2011 Share #7 Posted January 28, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I guess it would be nice to see some results. Why? They won't look any different from those taken with a common or garden M9. To the OP, don't buy an M9 Tit, it's vulgar.
ho_co Posted January 28, 2011 Share #8 Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) If you're looking for something luscious and collectable, but maybe a bit more fun than the M9 Titanium, check out Platin-Krokodil ~ Boxenstop Auto- und Spielzeugmuseum Tübingen. It's a platinum Märklin HO model of the SBB's "Crocodile" locomotive. Under 100 made; original price 72.000 DM at the turn of the millennium. You can see the real thing in action at SBB Ce 6/8 II 14253 Krokodil unterhalb Wattingerkurve bei Wassen , Kanton Uri , Schweiz. Archiver Posted January 28, 2011 Share #9 Posted January 28, 2011 In Australia, the retail price is something crazy like AUD$33,000. I know of one that has been sold in Melbourne so far.
giordano Posted January 28, 2011 Share #10 Posted January 28, 2011 Why? They won't look any different from those taken with a common or garden M9. I thought the Ti had rose-coloured glass over the sensor.
farnz Posted January 28, 2011 Share #11 Posted January 28, 2011 How would you break the news that you'd bought a M9Ti to your spouse or partner? Pete.
Nicoleica Posted January 28, 2011 Share #12 Posted January 28, 2011 How would you break the news that you'd bought a M9Ti to your spouse or partner? Pete. Wouldn't they have worked out that it was rather expensive, as their new owner took them away?
wildlightphoto Posted January 28, 2011 Share #13 Posted January 28, 2011 Interesting. I wanted to ask this same question and ask if anyone who purchased has actually been shooting it? Seal uses his M9 Titanium.
alun Posted January 28, 2011 Share #14 Posted January 28, 2011 Seal uses his M9 Titanium. I was about to say the same thing -- there is a long post (and many, many follow-up comments) about acquiring and using the M9 Ti here: It’s Not the Photographer, It’s the Camera Stupid! The M9 Titanium Arrives. By ~6 | STEVE HUFF PHOTOS Curiously, I found myself reading it in an idle moment and for some reason -- maybe Seal's infectious delight in the camera, his recognition of his good fortune in being able to afford one -- being nowhere near as disgusted as I expected to be.... I'd have to say I agree. I previously didn't care for the Titanium and I still don't but after reading Seal's post I felt I understood where he was coming from.
