Yea, but how will your Nocti feel, being swapped from one body to another? Do you have any compassion how she feels? At least she wont have to wear that yucky filter any more. Overgaard Posted September 29, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 29, 2009 Congratulations! The percentage of grey cameras must be considerably high compared to the usual back/chrome rate judging from the forum.
John.of.Gaunt Posted September 29, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 29, 2009 I can confirm, the Grey M9s are delivered, I got mine today.... I have not had a M8, therefore I can not compare, and I have not had a Digi-Canikon... But, this Camera is what I was looking for. Simple and Pure. I am still testing, first pictures are impressive. I will see what daylight might brings tomorrow...

Bo_Lorentzen Posted September 30, 2009 Share #14 Posted September 30, 2009 BTW. on the color profile issue, I just got the X-rite passport today, seems to be very foolproof and quick profiling. Now just need M9 for testing it. .

chris_tribble Posted October 1, 2009 Share #16 Posted October 1, 2009 Congratulations too... after 3 weeks, I'm not feeling ANY disappointment - quite the contrary. Just back from France and Spain where the M9 performed flawlessly. Lessons? Compressed DNGs feel good to me - I'll revert to full DNG for landscape and critical low light work the 50 lux asph was one of the best buys ever - so glad I got this a month or two back I'm really happy with 1600 - not had a real world need for 2500 yet - it's why we buy fast lenses! Pull 80 can be very helpful in really bright light - see some of the Wimereux images. The dialogues etc work well for me - I don't miss the inaccurate battery indicator at all... If you want to see a range of work (21 through to 135) check: France / Spain September 2009 I'm very happy - I'm sure you will be! Best
Mauribix Posted October 1, 2009 Author Share #17 Posted October 1, 2009 Hi Chris, nice work as by standard from you! (Just took a look at your France/Spain works). BTW I'm experiencing many problems with AWB... most of the times it fails. Ok I'm shooting DNG so it shouldn't be a problem, but here's my experience. Then, I found a red/magenta color cast in many pictures and... M9 C1profile is way better than LR's one. Hope Adobe will work out on that, it's a pity. Anyway the 50lux is the best, I'm with you for that... I can say I bought my M9 almost exclusively for that!
erl Posted October 1, 2009 Share #18 Posted October 1, 2009 Maurizio, try using Jamie Roberts original profile for the M8. I found it went a long way to improving over the current lot of M9 profiles, which I am assuming will be tweaked into better shape pronto.
chris_tribble Posted October 1, 2009 Share #19 Posted October 1, 2009 Maurizio - and others. I should have mentioned that I'm using the profile which Thorsten got from "Sandy of ChromaSoft" (downloadable from ChromaSoft - Reference Images). This is making a major difference and by and large I'm happy with skin tones... see the examples below (in the family group my friend Sylvianne's suntan is a good balance against her grand-daughter's skin tones and that of the inner side of her daughter's arm in the foreground. These work well for me (both shots 50 lux / 800 ISO) Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!
