Hello everybody!

I'm new to this forum and I really like it already! I've been using a Nikon D700 for a while. Tomorrow is the big day. My Leica M9 will arrive. And yes, I'm thrilled and outstanding exited about it!

I'd like to get a protective cover for the LCD screen. Does anyone have an idea where to get it from and if it exists? Is the LCD screen the same dimension than from the M8?

Thanks in advance from a nice New Zealand,

Bixi

Hi Bixi,

I'm new to the forum too, and Leica in general. (Ex 5DII user).

I don't really have an answer to your question really (and I would be interested in the answer too), but I would love to know when and with whom you placed your M9 order for it to arrive so soon already?

I'm in Wellington too, but chose to place my order with http://www.photo.co.nz

as the company I work for have a good relationship with them. Their estimated shipping time is 1-3 weeks at least. And for the 50mm Summilux I ordered as well they quoted 4-6 weeks. :( I hope it get's here sooner.

Hi Lone Deranger,

Two stores in New Zealand got the Leica M9. And both are sold out at this point. Camera & Camera (09.303.1879) in Auckland got two M9s. The first one was sold a couple days ago. I got the second one. And they also had two Summilux M 50MM F1.4 ASPH in stock. One of them I'll get tomorrow morning with my M9. I was told that they have a second Summilux M 50MM F1.4 ASPH in stock. There is one store in Christchurch which got one M9. Which sold a few days ago.

Wellington Photographic Supplies is the store in Wellington which I normally like to buy from. But since they didn't have the camera in stock, nor the lens, I bought it from Camera & Camera.

We should get together one day and shoot around Wellington!

Good luck,

Bixi

Thank you for the information Bixi! :)

That other store in Christchurch must be Photo & Video International (the place I linked to in my first post) with whom I placed my order.

The gentleman I corresponded with to place my order, mentioned they sold out on friday. Whether than meant they sold just one, or more I don't know.

They ordered two more, which should arrive in 1-3 weeks, pray one of them is mine.

Anyway, with work being the way it is, I won't get much time to use it anyway for the next month or two. :(

Funny coincidence you should order the 50mm summilux too.

Let's hope the weather will be favourable for you this coming weekend! Best of luck with your kit and let us now how you fare. :)

Yes, the store in Christchurch was Photo & Video. Hopefully you'll get your camera soon!

Try this :

I'm very happy with it, after trying some other solutions.

Dear Hel-Stampes,

this looks good! Now I have too many options :D:D - which seems to be a luxurious problem!

Thanks!

Yes. New Zealand is beautiflul. Originally I'm from Austria. Then I moved to New York. I lived there for eight years. Now I've been living in Wellington, New Zealand for the last six years.

I start missing New York again!
